Hi What proppeller do you use? and how high rpm do you get? I couldn't find manual for this version engine. I need few information: Output Power ,RPM range and oil mixture ratio. Do you use original Ignition module? Thanks Paul
@davren56
@davren56 7 жыл бұрын
hello, Sorry I can't help you much with this engine. I got it used, in a trade and sold it shortly after I posted this video. The prop was an 18x8 in this video. I think a 18x6 might do a little better. I never tached it, and don't know what the power rating was. I used it on a 71 inch wingspan, seagull, extra 260. It was OK in that, not 3d capable, but pretty good vertical. I used an Rcxel ignition, not the original.

Lost radio contact. I suspect I had the 2 antennas too close to each other, although I had flown it quite a few times before w/o issue, maybe just found the sweet spot. It did reconnect before it crashed, as you can hear the motor throttle back up, but it was below the trees at that point and I couldn't see what it was doing. I've glued it all back together and made a few flights with the antennas further separated and so far, no problems. Who knows?

Thanks for filming. It helps the pain. I'm building a Super Privateer by Berkeley but with extend wing for slope soaring Koh Samui or Phuket or where ever as I live in Thailand. I might have to rent a seat for it on the bus or train down. Building a case would take too long. Hope you fly again as soon as problems sorted. Paul V Thailand.

My DVIII did exactly the same thing, the only difference was I had about 200ft more to play with. Due to the lack of dihedral and the ailerons on the tips they tip stall really easily at low speed and due to the low Phillips entry on the airfoil it takes a fair bit of speed to get the wing flying again. I hope you rebuilt it and are now enjoying it.

@davren56
@davren56 9 жыл бұрын
Monel Funkawitz I wasn't wearing it to protect against a prop strike. I was wearing it because the trailing edge of that prop was sharp as a knife. And, FWIW fingertip prop strikes hurt a lot less if you're waring a nicely padded glove.
