Did it matter which vacuum line you spliced it into by chance?
@shadetreemotorworks8461 Жыл бұрын
I would try and splice it back into the original source line if possible. There are multiple vacuum lines that do run to different things. It may not have the result you want. As an example if you are trying to control the vent lines, try and plug back into that line.

Bought a new Clock Spring. Air bag light goes out, Cruise button turns on. But still no horn, or Cruise Control. There is heat and air conditioning, just doesn't work really well. So you are saying this Vaccum Line will fix all this?
@shadetreemotorworks8461 Жыл бұрын
I would trace all your vacuum lines to the source if possible. There is a speed control servo under the drivers side battery. They get hit with a lot of heat from the engine and like all plastic components they become brittle and break after time. That might be the culprit for the cruise control. The horn is all electrical and doesn't require any vacuum. Check your horn fuse and connections. Hope this helps.

As far as I know, they used the same radiator for all motors. You would just have to check fitment for your specific year. I know after 2009 they made some changes and they are different than the earlier ones.

@shadetreemotorworks84612 жыл бұрын
There are two plastic tabs on the back of the glove box when you open it. Squeeze those in enough to clear the rubber stops, and it should be able to swing all the open. If you want to completely remove it, remove the screws at the bottom after doing the above step.

After having replaced both A/C vacuum check valves, this ended up being the issue with my Dodge not blowing air out of the vents under hard acceleration or going up hills. The dealer was closed when I did this repair. So, I just used a 1/4" vacuum line from the local parts store. I believe it was about $5.

This happened to my Challenger last month, and sounds like the identical scenario. Was turning into the pharmacy and thought that maybe I might had clipped curb or something when I heard a clunk, but found that the fan went into the radiator. The problem is the bearings go out in the fans, and is probably what happened to yours. It totally sucks and wish that they made some kind of noise or something to give you a warning prior to this happening

@@ryanholiday4329 oh man no kidding, that totally sucks. Well hopefully you have AAA or something, and can get it towed. Like I said in my comment, I wish that the bearings would squel or something and give some kinda warning before it shot through the freaking radiator. I could be pissed at the automaker, but those smaller parts are typically made by outside companies and would not be fair to blame Dodge for it. Actually my SRT8 has almost 90k on her and the only problem I had before that happened, was an alternator at about 70k and has been a great car.
