Nice toothpick tip. You can also use a small finishing nail in the nose of the worm for the weight.

I float my green light about 6 feet under a water bottle to keep it a little further from the boat and then throw the cast net. It exposes more of them

I went all the way to Canada and did the same thing on my very first and small smallmouth. St. Croix replaced it though. I had waited to use it just for that trip. 🤦🏻♀️

Hey girl! Yeah it was cold and I wasn't prepared for it. Froze my dang butt off. Lost my girl Sora a week ago and wasn't much up for company. Skipped Thanksgiving pretty much. Damn furry critters make such an impact on our lives. Thank the lord for fishing, where I can turn off my brain for a few hours. You'll see me again before Christmas. 😉 It was just a tiny dirty word. 😂

@PoleBenderFishing We lost my pitadore just before new years last year, so I get it. The wind is colder on that water for sure. If I can get out, the waterways are the best place to clear the mind. Tight lines Dallas!

@@tammybaker6635 Clearing the mind. Some folks need it explained. Some folks need more time. Clearing the mind can also open it. Trying to dream before going to bed is like thinking of whathappenedthatdaywithpopdivingindapond or whatever pop ever did. Trying to NOT think is not opening the mind at all. Dreams never get fully explained. Plans fall apart und yet... fish want food so they will take bait.

@@Jaak_the_Belgian How you been Jaak? I tend to go towards nature's waterways to grieve. Thanksgiving and Christmas is very hard for me. I lost a 3 year old on Nov 12th to meningitis, lost my oldest Nov 2 to a big rig he was driving. Then, my younger sons birthday is Dec 8th. My only kids. Both gone. Nature is my grief salvation. I can sit on the bank and let go of some of the losses to sort out the good memories I want to keep. Good to see you bud!

I use a slow drag across the bottom. The colder the water the more pauses I'll throw in.

Glad to see you’re getting some water down there. I’m in the upper Midwest and the rivers are low and the creeks are dry. Been a weird year. Hopefully things stabilize. Take care.

This areas pattern has been months of drought and then all the missing rain at one time. Our dirt roads have taken a major beating with the 2 flash floods that we've had this year.

That's brilliant...thanks for the idea! I never thought to use a daisy chan on my anchor rode. If you are willing to make the chain "links" a little bigger you can do this in very little time.

Use a circle hook. Just as effective as treble hooks and a lot safer for your dog
