Nice Table. Do you think you'll be doing a review of your Lincoln 215 MPI since you've been doing some nice projects with it?

Question looks good by why no measurements. A person that know little this didn't help. I was joking with my wife. Someone will put a piece of 4 in square tubing on a table long, then show a pic. Done😂

Hey bro thanks for this great video. I'm getting ready to buy this unit. I heard a lot of good things from people who own it. I'm a super novice here and have a straight stick Lincoln welder and I'm looking forward to using MIG. What input voltage and amperage did you use on the welding you did? Thanks!
@buildfixeat6 күн бұрын
Sorry for the delayed response. It is a great little machine. Current (or Wire feed Speed) and Voltage very greatly based on a lot of variables. I'll will be putting out a 1 year review soon and I'll highlight that info. Now just in case you were talking about what I plug it into, I have a 50Amp plug with 50amp breaker on 240 V. Thanks

Great job! What thickness of metal did you use for the blade? Roughly what is the size of the blade and overall height and width of the splitter.

How is this holding up 10 months later? I'm building something similar at the moment out of stainless steel and will insulate the outer drum plus fire the whole thing with a biochar producing TLUD gasifier so I'm not burning any wood down to ashes
@buildfixeat6 күн бұрын
Still going strong, I've done about 12 batches this year. Stainless would be nice, could get it even hotter. Hope to see it on your channel.

you have to burn a lot of good wood to make a bit of charcoal. I think there is no economic benefits.

How can you use the excess heat productively?
@MikeTrieuАй бұрын
Isn't he already using it productively to drive off the wood gasses and to fully dry the product? Stealing heat from that process would only slow it down or even cause incomplete pyrolysis. Maybe you could use a little of that for cooking if you welded a flat plate somewhere near the burn chamber, kinda like how wood stoves are traditionally used.

If you had to guess, how much would the materials cost (minus the casters) for this project? Went to the local scrap yard to see if I could get some flat plate for the top and they said they don’t sell scrap, only accept. 😢

Nice job on the table pal, I've been debating buying a large top with holes in it or buy a cheap mag drill and sheet and DIY it. It's long overdue.

The only thing I missed was how the cook chamber lid sealed, was it a slide fit? By far the best build I have seen
@buildfixeat5 ай бұрын
Sorry for the delayed response. Its not a perfect seal, but the bottom head from the water tank fits in the pipe snug. There is enough back pressure that oxygen cant get in.
