Hello, did you stop taking short translation requests on Tumblr? It says you only accept requests from other accounts you follow, when using the ask form.
@TheDwarrowScholar3 ай бұрын
Hi. I did not stop taking requests, nor did I change any settings. In fact, I keep getting requests via tumblr on a near daily basis (including this week). There is a long waiting queue though (50+ currently), so it takes a long while for me to get to someone's request unfortunately. As mentioned in the tumblr ask form, for urgent requests/translations one can always send a mail and for a small donation of your own choosing I'll move folks up the queue. Cheers

In the backstories of my girlfriend’s dnd character and mine too, they were best friends. Mine is the exliled Jarl of a village of sorts, with a large dwarf population. They both play the lute and like to sing, and this was like their song. A song my character was taught in his village and now sung it with her on their adventures. Now this song ultimately reminds me of her. You are a great songwriter man, keep ‘em coming! And I’m gonna miss you, Roxy <3

It sounds so much better in dwarven than common but I appreciate the translation ❤
@wcs958211 ай бұрын
How do you distinguish between the past/future in the perfect tense? You can just as easily say "He will (guaranteed) die." and "He has died." with the same word

This sounds kinda like Arabic actually.

Hello! I love your work, especially when it comes to teaching us Neo-Khuzdul - but I've searched everywhere for any updates and found nothing. At one point I have found a discord invitation link from 2019 and of course, the invitation is inactive. I don't know what's the best way to contact with you so that's why I'm here. I would love to join your supporters but even on patreon the newest post for subscribers is like 2 years old so I don't even know if you're active in any way or are the lessons still available. Could you shed us some light on this topic?
@TheDwarrowScholar Жыл бұрын
Hi there, I am still very much alive and active. Mainly on Tumblr via Asks or via email. I rarely create Patreon public posts, but still interact there as well. The lesson were completely recreated (for various levels) and done mainly via Discord now. The idea was to bring these back to KZbin, but I've put that on hold, till I can improve the overall visual quality. What ongoing projects are concerned (apart from answering regular questions) I'm mainly busy with the Dwarvish Dictionary and a game I'm working on. Other activities such as creating music, streaming and regular KZbin videos have halted for now. Easiest way to get in touch though is simply via email, which you can find in my channel details here, or via my site dwarrowscholar.com

Please more Khazdul lessons!! I have been on the hunt for someone who can teach Khazdul and I came across this channel, and loved it immediately. I don’t know if you will read this but please, your the only good teacher.
@Pro_Butcher_Amateur_Human Жыл бұрын
If you mean Khuzdul, the LOTR Dwarven language, then it can't be taught. Tolkien never wrote it. The only Dwarven phrases ever translated into English are "Khazad-Dum" which means "Dwarf Hall", and "Baruk Khazad! Khazad ai-menu" which means "Axes of the Dwarves! The Dwarves are upon you!" The movies hired a linguist to create enough of a language called neo-Khuzdul, to allow Gimli to say a few other lines in Dwarvish, such as the insult he says to Haldir in Lothlorien.
@idiotandco.1750 Жыл бұрын
@@Pro_Butcher_Amateur_Human No doubt that LordGirion there understands this. For all practical purposes asking to be taught Khuzdul is asking to be taught one of the two(?) Neo-Khuzduls out there made by fans which are proper languages.

So "sagh"=friend in Khuzdu, it's plural will be "sagâh" or "saghâ"?
@TheDwarrowScholar Жыл бұрын
friend would be "bâha" (plural "buhâ"). You can check entries like that in the free dictionary, available on my site. Not sure where you got "sagh" tbh, perhaps another form of Neo-Khuzdul by another author?

¿No existe una versión en español?
@TheDwarrowScholar2 жыл бұрын
Disculpas de antemano por mi español mediocre. Entonces... No, la única versión que he creado es la que está en inglés. No tengo planes de hacer ninguna otra versión en el futuro. Hacer una versión en otro idioma es una tarea enorme, ya que significaría que no solo necesitaría traducir el programa, sino cada palabra (miles en este momento). Para ser franco, crear y actualizar una versión es suficiente trabajo.
@brianvans2 жыл бұрын
@@TheDwarrowScholar Tu español es completamente legible, no te preocupes. ☺️ Es una lastima saber éso, porque me veo muy reducido a poder acceder a tu fantástico contenido. 💔 ¿Tampoco haz pensado en delegar el trabajo de su traducción al español a alguien más? Podrías menguar tu trabajo para que no sea tan agotador para tí el traducirlo o adaptar tus programas. Seguro que en alguna comunidad del "señor de los anillos" podrías encontrar a alguien que quiera ayudarte. ☺️
