7 years later🤯 OMG he has changed so much😅 Mr Murray was obviously suffering from a cold (snuffles) Now i want to know the names of his dermatology treatments because gone are the eye bags and rashes! I was starting to suspect cheek fillers but perhaps he has overhauled his diet etc. I prefer this hair on him though to the straightened pomaded 'fade' cuts he sports nowadays!

War is a nightmare. As much as war-talk makes me uncomfortable, and Washington disgusts me, I think this is fundamentally a wise choice. We cannot know what the future may bring, but we do know that wars have been fought endlessly for 3,000 years, and it appears that reality isn't going to cease this year. Being prepared for this sad reality is far safer than being ill-prepared. That said, there needs to be institutions in place to prevent this EU military being used simply for conquest for national resources of weaker nations (which would be politically inevitable) and instead for national defence.

Keen still does either not understand or is unwilling to consider that new fiat money created by government selling Treasuries to the Federal reserve bank is a debt for the private sector because it matures and has to be paid off with existing money from the economy. This is fact that is clearly explained by the on line document of how money is created the Bank of England and supported by the explanation of the Parliamentary office of Canada which is also available online. Apparently despite it being drawn to his attention he chooses to still misinform people to support his faulty MMT theory. His hidden agenda ? It seems so.

He was a big supporter of Tony Blair and new labour and now sir Keir starmer new labour Mark 2 but back in the day before he was elected leader of the Labour party he claimed to be on the left of the party a socialist. A member of CND if I recall used to sit next to Dennis Skinner on the day of the opening of parliament refusing to walk across to the lords has Dennis Skinner used to do but now has that title in his name the ironic thing is though when he was Labour leader the establishment and right wing press through every lie and distortion at is leadership- obviously without the anti-semitism lies and it turned out the right of the parliamentary Labour party use those very lies and tactics to destroy Jeremy corbyn's Labour party now sir Keir starmer's doing exactly the same very sad state of affairs indeed

So was it "consistutuonal" to join? A body with sovereignty over parliament is surely not acceptable.
@phillipmorrison96072 жыл бұрын
It was constitutional in the sense parliament decided to both join and leave the EU, after two referenda which were both advisory. Which body was sovereign over parliament btw? Parliament is and has been sovereign, since 1689 in fact.

Kinnock failed twice to win an election, failed to back the miners' strike ( the TUC is also culpable), which would have been won if the labour movement had got behind them. Never mind irrelevant conjecture about the lack of a ballot, a side issue designed to distract from the real issue. The Kinnock of the eighties would not recognise himself in the twentieth century. He must ( or should know) that the Labour manifestos of 2017 and 2019 were to the right of the 1945 Attlee government's pledges and actions in power to 1951 ( it won the 1950 election narrowly with a small majority). I have not heard him disown the achievements of the Attlee government, rendering the hostility to Corbyn utterly inexplicable and illogical. It is soon the anniversary of the 1992 election defeat. I am on the left and always will be but it remains one of the saddest days of my life because I wanted to see a Labour government change society for the better. Yes, a Labour government dominated by the right of the party would have been good for the country compared to the alternative of Thatcherism. Britain has moved so far to the right in the three decades since ( except Scotland which has rejected neoliberalism and embraced social democracy in the form of the SNP due to Labour's abandoning of socialist principles) that the Kinnock leadership would be to the left of what Corbyn offered when the two are compared objectively.

Economists like Mankiw who think they are scientists (like a physicist or a chemist) are delusional. These "equations" are neither mathmatical, nor scientific. They are pure nonsense (sprinkled with greek letters). But unfortunately politicians (and other non-thinking people) accept this stuff without even questioning it. And now we're all going to suffer from it.... Thanks for nothing "Economist's Society".
