Crazy is this wasn’t the Dodgers plan A offseason. Plan B Snell, Roki, Scott, Kim, Conforto, Yates, and Teoscar cost was 107 million Plan A Snell, Soto, Scott, Teoscar and Roki. Cost wouldve been 113 million There was a realistic chance that 15 years 600 million wouldve been enough. Had that happened… yikes. If the Cubs have a bad here don’t be surprised if they trade for Kyle Tucker and give him 500 million of the 600 million they were gonna give Soto. 40 mill a year for 12 years. With Yates 13 mill, Conforto 17 mill, Taylor 15 mill, Braiser 4.5 mill, May 3 mill, Barnes 3.5 mill, Rojas 5 mill all coming off the books they can take on the 40 mill per from Tucker and still lower payroll

Well the Dodgers have a whole season to test Betts out. He's very athletic so it's a good possibility that he will work out. However if he falls short then the Dodgers have multiple ways to cover for it.

In a few years when he is in his mid 30s he will likely just be a 270 AVG 20 HR hitter. Which isnt anything special for an outfielder. But as an above average defensive 2B or SS it would make him a 5.0 WAR player

Other than Banda all the guys closed at some point. The strikeout stuff is crazy now. Hudson was good till the end and Honeywell won everyone’s heart but Yates, Scott is a huge upgrade and if may is healthy I think he could be a young Blake treinen with his movement. May doesn’t have the stamina for his body type. He puts so much strain on his elbow the way he throws

Definitely a huge mistake. What’s THE NECESSITY for Mookie to field SS in Dodgers team except his wants and ego ? As much respect as I have for Mookie, this is wrong on him for the sake of the team !

If Mookie came to the front office and requested the opportunity to play at shortstop… would anyone expect them to deny him?
@Mr1stcat

I don't know if this was mookies idea or the front office, but I'm sorry this is dumb they already tried this last year and it clearly affected mookie at the plate I mean what's the point of this when they have MiggyRo, Kike or Edman to play shortstop 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Its like jurrassic park....they are so focused on weather or not he could, when they didnt stop and think if he should play ss...This is a mistake...i don't know what mookie is trying to prove..gold glove rightfeilder probably a gold glove 2nd basemen...other than wanting to prove he can do it i don't see a reason for this

It’s disrespectful the way you phrase your question. “Do you think the Dodgers would be so stupid to yada yada yada…” Let me ask you, are you so stupid to think you know more than Andrew Friedman and the Dodgers?

Mookie also broke his hand/ wrist? Hit by a pitch, that effected him last year. Not that he sucked at the position.

Its a mistake. Knowing Mookies work ethic he'll try his best and probably overextend himself and possibly get hurt. Just play Edman there and put mookie at 2nd. Mookie is not a long term SS whats the point of this move?

It'll be viewed as not a mistake if Betts plays well defensively, still hits well from there, and doesn't get injured. If any one of those three goes bad, and especially if he gets injured this move will be considered a catastrophe. So, all in all, I think it's a bad idea.

6 mil for an elite super duper prospect. Everyone needs to shut the fuck up if he doesn’t live up the first year. He’s basically free.

Btw, Cartaya once was their best prospect and they ended up DFAing him. Don't let that happen again with Bobby, if he'll continnue to be a nutthead, trade him before loosing him for nothing.

I'd really give Outman a chance to see if he recovers from his sophomore slump, setting the trade deadline as his limit. At the same time, they can use that time to send Pages to OKC to work as much as he can in his defense. Bringing back Kiké sets the team up to cover for rest days and/or if Conforto needs some help. Please, for the love of God, move from Grove, CT3 (even if they need to pay 3/4 of his salary) and Gonsolin, I'm almost sure they can be packaged in a trade. Also, it's time to free Frasso, Knack and Wrobleski at least, they need serious play time and are blocked with this roster.

The Dodgers will give him as much as he needs, realistically speaking, he's been recruited as the 4-5th starter in the rotation with the upside of being a potential 1 or 2. If he has Sub 4.00 ERA with 100 innings, he's vastly outperformed expectations for the year

Sasaki has all the hype but at least he doesn't have the weight of the giant contract. His young age also gives him time to mature. I think Dodger fans will look for the positive and give him Grace if he struggles. Plus his personal and family history make him very sympathetic to the fans, even if he is a little reserved
