if the only 2 choices remaining were ohtani & kelly in the bullpen...i'd go with the ladder

I ain’t watch it yet but no, 700 million dollar man. Why risk it this year when we have 9 more years of him
@aupotter2584Ай бұрын
Ohtani ever said that his peak performance was over, impyling that the first few years will be more valuable to him and the team than the last couple of years. I agreed that he should pitch unless it's absolutely necessary and everything is ready for him, but missing even one out of ten such occasions will be considered to be unwise and wasted, especially when the team is running out of SPs and facing a decider in NLDS/NLCS/WS. 🤔

Yeah let him pitch we need help

World Series game 7, 9th inning, 2 outs, Dodgers 2 - Yankees 1, Aaron Judge at the plate. Then, maybe.

IF OHTANI pitch this would be an awesome for him and for baseball....the real MVP for sure ...the UNICORN unveils.....

A normal star who brings no extra money to the team could cost 30m. 70m is huge? What you guys talking about.??!

How about Ohtani close?
@aupotter2584Ай бұрын
Like what he did in WBC
@lifejourney8704Ай бұрын
Here is a scenario where I can see ohtani pitching. Game 5 or 6 of the WS and the dodgers are leading in the game and need 3 outs to win the WS. Why not bring him in to close it out to win it all?
@aupotter2584Ай бұрын
That's the point, and I don't think that pitching next regular season will not get injured more easily than in postseason for just at most 6 games or so.

Could the Dodgers go after Roki Sasaki, in the off season?
@calvinthagoatENTАй бұрын
They already are after him lol
@ibestrokinАй бұрын
He's already shook hands with AF. Of course they'll be in on him.
@timg6125Ай бұрын
The only way this makes sense is if he gets to pitch in the regular season first just to see what you actually have. Does he have his command? I don't want to find out in a playoff game or world series game that he can't find the strike zone, and I think you have to see him in an actual competitive situation with stakes for the batters to find out. This is what spring training is for. A few bullpen sessions and live batting practice or even a sim game really isn't enough.
@aupotter2584Ай бұрын
Miller went to the spring training and pitched really well in his first regular game, but now he sucks. There's no guarantee in baseball, and would you trust on Miller or Buehler now, rather than Ohtani to be SP in postseason like what he did in WBC? 🤔

It's just craaaazy how y'all guys set extreme moments on where it should be right to use Ohtani as a pitcher in this playoffs. He's not ramped up and more likely than not, he'll have command issues. Yet there you are, posting him like a savior that he might not be given his health status. Let's settle down and think about the future of his and the Dodgers having him as a pitcher NEXT SEASON.
@john.s7559Ай бұрын
Robert's and ownership are dumb enough to do this.. however I see it being the final 3 outs of the WS if they make it that far.

I'm gonna go with it being a "REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY STUPID F'ING IDEA TO PITCH OHTANI THIS YEAR!!!!!"
@ryanc9876Ай бұрын
Even if it's this last guy left that can pitch in a do or die game, that doesn't mean he's going to succeed. That doesn't mean he won't either nor would his health be fine or not fine. Is the chance worth the risk? That's the question. Because you could spend Ohtani's arm and he doesn't get the final out. Or he could be fine and get the final out to survive/win it all.
@aupotter2584Ай бұрын
It depends on who you trust in the decider, Miller or Buehler, who are proved to be an almost certain LP in playoffs even with runs support. Trusting Ohtani is obviously wiser for what he did in WBC, and was what the team did when he was signed as a Dodger.
