Thank you for sharing your analysis. What a wonderful observation that "the question" could be viewed as "To be, or not to be?" How elegant! Such an obvious tie-in to Hamlet, that passage could be described as both "a tedious argument of insidious intent" and "a hundred visions and revisions." Prufrock procrastinating on "to be, or not to be" could be seen as the reason he has thus lived an unfulfilled life--he has not yet resolved "to be" and make something of it. His age brings mortality salience and forces the issue. It fits perfectly. 🤯 IMO your interpretation of "coffee spoons" feels a lot more "measured up" than "measured out" (i.e. evaluating, judging) when I read the line as rationing out or meting out. Following the same ordinary routines, then looking back to find that one has lived an ordinary life. It also ties into courting a woman over toast and tea with coffee spoons. "How much time do I keep throwing at this goal of wooing someone?" Haven't watched Part 2 yet, but I'm very much looking forward to it!

@@afiyaibnath2706the poem loses a lot of meaning because he’s not taking into account TSEliots spiritual beliefs or his personal and intimate relationships with his wife and him having her committed so that he may pursue his own desires and bringing her to an asylum to have a hysterectomy and his relationship with Ezra Pound and other males during this time the relationships he was involved in would have been legally punished so that’s why he uses different languages with dual meanings so that he could conceal such
