I would have really have liked to have seen the depth increase with their new big I think 12" coil at those 400-450 depths??

Me compre un 5000, este año 2024 usado, No es dificil configurarlo Trabaja bien suave, el umbral ya encontrechombita con unas esterlinas a la profundidad de 1.10 mts. Excelente Maquina y dura bien la bateria a pesar de los años q tiene solo los cables se resquebraja. Saludos.

I've had both of these and the factor that made me decide on the Garrett Pinpointer was because I can power on and power off the Garrett by feel due to it's shape and not by looking at it, the Minelab pinpointer is round and kept searching for the power button turning it around... couldnt feel it easily either

Was the machine in different or normal? Sounds like it’s in normal..makes the whole test pretty pointless if you don’t say as majority of people will be in areas the 6 only operates in difficult

As most detectorist no it’s all about coil size the bigger the coil the deeper it goes however the smaller the coil the better it is on smaller gold not rocket science

Not sure if I get it you pay $8000 for a gpx6000 and put a small coil on it just buy a sdc2300 half the price no probs with emis and find the same gold

The best set up is a same size coil but DD with a SD2200 ....anti interference coil dont go deep...

for complete waterproof for sniping places deposits and looking for nuggets snorkeling around creeks, would you recommend the sdc2300, or would one of those handhelds or pinpointers be better or just fine, or is it much better to have something like a sdc2300 underwater and a pinpointer on the side? and for mostly land the 7000? think that might be what I decide on.

Sdc and 7000 or sdc and 5000 combo can't go wrong. Yes the sdc for creeks and bedrock around creeks and you can submerge whole machine. 6000 coils are waterproof so it would still do well but I'm not sure about submerging it. The sdc is a weapon if the right person is using it. 5000 great machine and lots of coil options. Never used a 7000 but I heard the 5000 can beat it in depth so there's that. Or a old 4500 are beasts on depth the aussie made ones, they are louder a lot more noise but will pull nuggety gold at wicked depths said to beat 5000 by small margin. Some people won't sell or trade the old 4500 for any detector. They didn't issue as many as the Malaysian made ones so they are rarer to come across nowadays
