Had a neighbor that would sing this song in her choir. Mrs. Weaver is long gone now. I still remember her singing this song like it was yesterday.

Sidney knew he could play that piano. The Irony is that Sidney was playing at the same church where his former pastor (who was the song writer) once played the organ at.

I love this song. I learned it when I first started singing in a gospel choir shortly after I joined the church. I became the organist at one of their churches (this church had several) and I taught this song, not only there, but other churches where I have played through the years. The church where I am serving now I taught it to the male chorus. Some years they sing it on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. I also have them sing "O Give Thanks." So this song was written by Rev. Harold Smith? Growing up in Detroit, his choir was the first gospel choir concert I attended. My father took me and my sister. He said that he was going to take us to hear some "soul music." I thought he meant Motown. I enjoyed it nonetheless. He is from Monticello Mississippi. Rev. Maceo Woods' choir from Chicago recorded this song as well. From what I understand, Rev. Nicks, Rev. Smith, and Rev. Woods were close friends with their choirs performing together on many occasions. I hear a second song. It sounds like an arrangement of "King Jesus is-a Listening." I can't hear the lyrics that good, but it sounds great. I would add it once I learn what they are.

Ever since I discovered Earl Klugh in the late 1970s, I fell in love with Funcky Jazz. He together with other Jazz Maestros like George Benson have created a new Sub-Genre in the Funky Jazz Genre with no Competition.

Once more we listen and are so blessed. The versatility of this woman of God always leaves me speachless! I know her academic background - which includes advanced degrees in music - but her musical depth in Christ far exceeds all of those things. And, calling her "friend" for more than three decades is one of my greatest joys! Dr. Bernard Clay, church music since 1945
