My portfolio has always been self-managed for the past 30 years, and I own 3 shares of Berkshire Hathaway Class A stock (BRK:A), which I purchased for about $17,000 in the mid-1990s. I'm currently liquidating some of these positions to make room for new generation stocks, but would I be better off reinvesting in gold as stocks appear to be a little too volatile right now.
@DesireeJames-q1z3 күн бұрын
DCAing amongst various assets is a good strategy and can help reduce the impact of market volatility and thus a good strategy if you are looking to compound . However it is important to consider financial advisory when investing .

All I can say when looking at these older clips as a investor of my own money is that nothing is absolute. Always be wary, always take profits(and reinvest them) along the way, always be ready and more important willing to change your mind. Success, rather then breeding confidence should breed wariness and concern. The first and hardest step is learning to invert your deeply imbedded human instinctual fight or flight impulses. If you cannot leap that very difficult hurdle please pay someone to manage your money for you. Then learn to listen to the contrarian thinking you have trained your self into seeing. I have learned I will not always be correct, but I have become correct more often. As long as you re willing to admit it, grow from it, and learn from it, being wrong from time to time is the best way to learn and grow. Even the very best, at times make the wrong call, learn, grow, and move on. Good luck and cheers! Oh, one more important thing, ALWAYS keep some cash(and an ever evolving dream list) on the sideline for the rainy day that no one sees coming. I assure you it will come more then once in a lifetime! It is at that moment you move from being lucky to being smart.

The most popular investment portfolio strategies include diversification, where you spread investments across different asset classes to manage risk. Another is the growth strategy, focused on capital appreciation through high-risk, high-reward assets. Income-oriented strategies target regular income from dividend stocks or bonds. Finally, there's the value strategy, seeking undervalued assets for potential long-term gains.
@brantheeskimo25 күн бұрын
According to Warren Buffett, dividends are less valuable for growing businesses and more suitable for established ones. Investing in companies that offer dividends might be seen as parking capital for steady returns, especially for those relying on portfolio income. This approach resembles bond investing, serving as a means of generating consistent earnings.
@belobelonce3524 күн бұрын
a downtrend offers an equally high-yielding avenue if you have the necessary skills and knowledge. This is why I've been using an investment advisor to scale up during this difficult time, and it's the only way I've been able to raise up to $150K in the last six months. It all comes down to technique. The downtrend gives you room to focus on the market and grow-substantially whether in the long or short run.
