Wow this is unbelievable. What a world we live in, where you can learn this kind of stuff from a KZbin video. Thank you so much

Hello Guy, Thank you for your insights. I am not sure if you think about this much, but there are people in your audience who do not have a finance background, and truthfully know very little about the complexities of finance. I myself am a civil engineer with no formal financial education. I would like to thank you for taking the time creating these interviews. I am near certain there is very little benefit to your fund from these interviews and that you do them simply for the benefit of the community.

Very interesting and insightful presentation. The interviewer is a very knowledgeable of what he is asking, Offsetting is not generally recommended under IFRS. The only exception to do the offestting is when there is legally enforceable right to do that.

Great conversation! @11:00 Guy makes the point that other banks were also negative equity on liquidation basis , which is correct. Eric mentions that’s not necessarily true , because they *could* completely hedge that risk away, but what’s being discussed is the actual position other banks were in, not what they could have done. What brought down SVB was more about funding concentration and correlation than interest rate risk IMO
