Very cool! It certainly looks like a fun day. I got to operate BEDT 15, before it was sold to Strasburg. It was an enjoyable experience. Strasburg, though, has done a major disservice to my friend, Keith Brigode, who rebuilt and restored 15 to operational condition. He only sold it to Strasburg, when his Parkinson's made it too difficult for him to keep it. His notes and process was so well documented that the FRA incorporated them into their rules for tourist railroads to restore steam locomotives to operating condition. Either way, it's fun to watch Thomas run and give people a chance to ride behind an operating steam locomotive. An excellent video, as always.

Looks like a wonderful day out with Thomas! This must’ve been a few weeks before the York Train Show. We visited Strasburg on October 19th and everyone was telling us how much fun Thomas was. We’ve done a similar event at the Boone Scenic Railroad in Iowa, but our Thomas was pushed or pulled by a diesel instead. Kinda neat that this one is operational!
@TheTrainboard21 сағат бұрын
Indeed, it was! This was filmed in June. I have another video coming out about the event at the Delaware River Railroad. They have a Thomas that needs help from a diesel, too. I can't recommend Strasburg's event enough! I'm going to every one as long as I live! - Ryan

@markmeadows250 sounds like you forgot that this notheast corridor line is, by far, the most profitable train line in the country. No red ink there for years. An 18 minute ride from central nj into nyc costs about $21 but still way cheaper than drive, park, and bridge tolls on your car ride into nyc

@@TheTrainboard true, but the parks service knew well in advance of the 1420's expiring that the should have been doing something to fix or at least invite engines like the 611 and others that are having issues finding places to run. While they worked on the CN locomotives.
