My mom got me a Victrola suitcase player and a few records a year ago and Ive gotten quite into them but the player sounds like co9mplete shit, its skips a lot and plays several records completely out of tune. I cant afford an absurdly expensive player but definitely need a new one as I haven't listened to any records in forever in fear of damaging them. Thanks for the suggestion.

Do you know the dual dt 400? Would you recommend buying a used dual dt in very good condition or a new at-lp 60x for the same price?

If you are whomever you are giving the turntable too is not somewhat obsessive the forget about it.

What would be a good affordable pair of speakera for the lp60x turntable??

For the past 7 years I've used the first & 2nd gen AT-LP60 & 60X Audio Technica turntables with absolutely no problems of any kind whatsoever averaging a thousand hours of play time on each unit per year. These turntables are a workhorse & built to last. They come factory with the ATN3600L stylus that are budget friendly & easy to replace. The next upgrade from this model would be the AT-LP70X which offers a wider plinth, J style tone arm with preset 2 gram weight & is fully automatic. The headshell is permanent mount but comes with the Conical AT-VM95C Stylus & will accept a wide range of higher end styli to enhance it's sound.

“Starter” anything…ughh. Hate this collector ideology. Your “collection” will just end up costing you the same as a nice initial setup and take up space where you live. And if you can only afford lower cost turntables, (which is fine) your space is likely important to you. Yeah, if affordable is important, get the best u can afford and enjoy it for years to come if that’s what it comes to. But if you can handle a little setback, enjoy a couple months of research and space setup and get something nicer with higher quality. You won’t regret the decision if you’ve put the time in. Starter shit used to be what u got ur kids to see where there interests go, not for an adult looking to make the best informed decisions for themselves, pffft. Get outta here.

I'd rather have a solid turn table that won't ruin my records over modern convenience. Vinyl wasn't meant to be convenient.

I agree with your advice, except the at lp 70x is a significant upgrade over the 60 and for some reason on Amazon it is actually cheaper

Can someone advice me, please? Can't decide between AT-LP60XBT and AT-LPW30. Is LPW30 really worth the higher price? I that price range I am also considering AT-LP120XBT, which has an integrated bluetooth.

I'm from the U.S. and I can't make out what you said at 6:46... are you referring to the lack of adjustable counterweight on this player? And what is the recommendable fix that you suggested here? I tried looking up "Bandigo Vinyl" and nothing came up!

Im an American but your video has helped me. I have a 20 year old pioneer vsk-515 reciever and some decent speakers. At the time that reciever was made vinyl was pretty dead but it's come back. Point being it doesn't have a phono input, will this player work out of the box hooked to CD input or do i have to do something different?

I was so lucky that my first video on this topic was yours! All hail not having to wonder if the recs are even available in Oz. I have 1 question. I was snooping around for the LP60X with the upcoming Black Friday and saw that they recent release the LP70X! Should I take the plunge on the newer model, or is it just marketing hype? Thanks for the informative video again

Wow, that was honestly a fantastic review. Really clear and also didn't come across snobby at all which quite a lot of vids do. I also loved the 'this will take as long as it takes to drink this coffee' and then fade in/out and there's a diff mug of tea 😂

For the LP60X, would I need any external speakers or anything aside from the table and vinyls? I am extremely uninformed and clueless about turntables, I want one for Christmas but don’t want it to get wrecked or ruin my vinyls from being cheap materials!

I have to say I have used a $30. Turntable for 8 years, and it has NOT ruined any of my records. 🤔

I got one of those suitcases as a gift, and now, around a year later and several records, I think is finally time to upgrade it. Going for the lp60x. I have a good pair of speakers, but the quality just isn't really there, and I think it is because of the record player. It sounds way better from other devices.

Thank you!! I bought a disk awhile ago solely for the look (the Saltburn bathwater disk 😭) and have been seeing so many cool vinyl since that I decided I wanted a player. A friend told me to not get a suitcase player (for obvious reasons clearly) but everything he recommended was upwards of $500 which I do not have to put into a hobby right now. Will definitely be checking out the AT-LP60X

Picked myself up an old Sanyo DCW 4800UM for 50 bucks a while ago and is my first vinyl player, not sure if its any good yet but i thought it was pretty interesting as its 3 in 1. All tough i don't get to use the radio part as in Norway we pretty much use dab radio.

Can anyone recommend the Yamaha P-220 turntable? I would rather stay away from any modern turntables (unless it's the carbon evo) and can get this model for less than 100 euros (but is it worth it?) Or is there a better vintage model at that price range that i should look for?

I agree: Don't waste money on buying a turntable - buy a cd player instead.

I was thinking about buting the lp60x but wasnt sols quite yet. But now i definitely am. I have an old tecord player that i bought from a garage sale and it did it job, but the sound wasnt good at all. It had build in speakers and was an older model i think. And the s time passed i wanna get more deep into vinyl but still dont want to spend too much money on it. This is the perfect balance turntable. Thankuu!!
