single turbo, intercooler w/ custom piping, injectors, MAP 2 ECU, boost controller, fuel pressure regulator, walbro fuel pump

How is this one so damn loud? I feel like other vr4s in videos are never this loud, Iv only seen a few in other videos that sound like this and are just as loud as this one. Is it from straight pipe maybe??

+shnoopy doopy The single turbo probably has an external wastegate that is just dumping exhaust into the atmosphere. So when the gate opens it's like a straight open exhaust. That's why the car gets so loud under boost... it's the sound of the waste gate opening. The stock twin turbos have internal wastegates which route the exhaust through the muffler making it much quieter than the external wastegate setup.

it isnt surging its fluttering the sound only comes when you let go of the throttle meaning flutter, not surge

surging is when boost is sent back through the turbo during acceleration and makes a flutter noise = bad flutter is when the boost is sent back through the turbo when letting of the throttle = nothing to worry about

thanks for your answer i appraciate! is there any chance you could say me if its flutter or surge on my car? i will upload some videos in few minutes. I drive an audi S3 with 2.0T Engine and k04 Turbo Evoms Intake and HKS SSQV original. i usually want to drive it with "recirculation fitting" but i tried the regular one too. im gonna upload it and let you know.. would be big help for me if i need to worry about that sound or not

8,000rpm. Switched out the crystal in the ECU to raise redline from 7,000rpm to 8,300rpm.

the stock transmission/gearvbox on the 3000gt/GTO/stealth is built to withstand up to 450bhp if i recall rightly :)

I have heard from several sources (I don't own one) that if you like to drag race the T-case becomes a consumable. Even if you buy a built one. But if you love drag racing you could probably mitigate some of that with bias ply tires. Either way 97+ VR4 or if I can find one, 97+ dodge stealth R/T is on the list for ludicrous road course/street build.

RazorSharp Swagg went drag racing unexpectedly yesterday (yes legally and at a drag strip) wish i brought my go pro and i would have. i have the gto model with the right hand drive. but yea i definitely will since i am beginning to restore it and get performance parts for it.
