Thank you so much for this video Winnie. Your words are always so insightful as they put things into perspective, and you’re so right that happiness is found in the now and that attaching ourselves to the past is robbing ourselves of the joy we can experience in this very moment. I’ve been thinking about this a lot, that true self love and self acceptance comes from embracing ourselves as we are right now, no matter how insecure we feel that day or what we’d like to change about ourselves. I think it’s really easy to feel this sense of desperation to cling onto the present as if it’s fleeting or have a scarcity mindset with some negative messaging out there in the media, but it’s so comforting to hear that you feel genuinely content in the present moment. Stay you, Winnie, the world needs more people and creators like you. Thank you for sharing. ❤

ahh, you summed it up so perfectly. it's okay to drift back into these old ways of thinking and being influenced by all the programming. i think i'm learning now to accept that i can be uncomfortable and at the same time really full of a lot of joy. i think i had to have everything perfect to finally feel content, but now i am really, really trying to focus on making it so that i can be content with whatever is in the right here and right now. thank you for your comment. this discourse is so appreciated ❤️

I totally agree, man! Everything happens everybody at a different pace and it's really unfair for you to compare yourself to others, like you said. Whether the "system is rigged" or not from your perspective, it's really about what you take away from the experience/process and how you leverage that to your advantage to be in a better position. As long as you're better than you were yesterday (metaphorically and maybe literally speaking), you're doing just fine.

I'm glad you're creating!! I have had a similar feeling about posting more on TikTok. It's so so great to see the (currently) small group of people who find the content helpful or motivating. It's so NICE to see a real person on here 😂 I'm seeing a lot of new creators / small channels being recommended - I feel like it's a new generation of creators being born!

thank you for the kind words!! it's almost like create or be consumed. i've had a lot of trouble being honest in my life, so it's really liberating to create something that's honest to myself. i have a love/hate relationship with social media because i waste so much time on it but when i post and create stuff, i can find people like meee. i think community is so important and that's what has been lacking for me.
@artfromalthea3 ай бұрын

Man this is satisfying! Digital minimalism / file organization is one of the most time consuming and rewarding thing when it's finished
@winnieletsgo3 ай бұрын
it’s a relief.. now i need to delete all the duplicates . i am planning to write an app to detect and delete duplicates. what are some things that you do to remain minimal / organize files?
@artfromalthea3 ай бұрын
@@winnieletsgo wow that app would be so helpful!!!! I definitely had a moment like you with a huge file transfer, during which I sorted and categorized into folders as needed. Sorting by year and topic was helpful, naturally. Now it's more a game of sorting, categorizing, and deleting or saving as I go - by preventing buildup in general and organizing intentionally as we go, we prevent moments of buildup that take more energy to sort (kind of like our emotions, lol)! As far as minimalism goes with digital files, it's like physical things - be honest about what you need to keep and what you don't, and if there's anything you want to keep (research papers, resources, etc.) but aren't using, you can offload onto a different database, hard drive, thumb drive (if people even use those now lol!), or whatever is helpful. By keeping your immediate computer storage as clear as possible, you can eliminate the mental fatigue that we feel when things are disorganized. If we didn't feel that fatigue, we wouldn't be driven to organize at all, I think. Also, everyone has a different capacity for what feels right when organizing, so there isn't a real right or wrong - this is just how I approach it! Hope this is helpful and loving your content!

@winnieletsgo3 ай бұрын
yeah, i see that. i think what i meant is not that it's directly taken from someone else but more it's a reminder that others are not making it, so that's where the guilt comes from. i agree most things seem zero-sum but actually aren't. i think this comes from limiting beliefs. thanks for the comment!

This is so relatable. There is nothing I want more than a healthy family for myself, exactly as you said - I want my kids to know that they are safe, loved, respected, and deserving of my time. Moving forward can be so challenging, as can healing in general... this was a great little reflection.
@winnieletsgo3 ай бұрын
we just have to take it step by step. ❤️ healing is not linear. we must be kind and gentle with ourselves first. i think from there we can spring joy and love to those around us from a true place.

That is not true because you are doing well. Does not mean you are taking out of the mouth of another. That statement is false. This world is abundant. Distribution is key.

Check with your university if they're connected to your local AREN (in the USA it's called "Internet2" or "i2"). This is a high speed network (in the order of 10s of Gbps if not, 100Gbps) and is often also linked to Amazon/ Google/ Microsoft cloud at high speeds (10Gbps/ 100Gbps) too. If they are, you can try and request access to have much faster download speeds - usually there are private research networks within the university that allow access to the AREN network. You'll want to use a wire connection rather than WiFi though.
@winnieletsgo3 ай бұрын
yeah, wire connection is definitely my blindspot. just been running rclone 24/7 on my laptop for the past 2 days over wi-fi 😰 i should have reached out to them right when i realized but i pretty much have all of the files from google photos downloaded at this point.
@asadfarraj3 ай бұрын
Today is 21 June 2024. The account gets deleted on June 27. Order a big hard drive, 5TB at minimum (come on, it's your memories. A hard drive's price isn't even close to their worth) and use google takeout to get every photo in 2GB .zip files to your storage. You don't even need to unzip those files, jist keep them and export when you have the hard drive and/or enough space. If you have any questions, just ask me
@winnieletsgo3 ай бұрын
yeah i am using a 8TB hard drive to download everything 😂 i am dumb and was downloading over wifi but i almost downloaded all of the files from google photos using rclone. i will use google take out for the google drive stuff!! thanks for the suggestion
