I am just curious you said you were certain it's a condor? I am not a gear snob or anything but I have had explorer bags fail on me and i know explorer makes a knock off of the condor small assault packs at 23:15 I see a logo on the inside of the main compartment. The logo looks just like the explorer sign to me as the explorer pack I had that fell apart on me, it was a good pack for about a year though, until one day it just came apart without warning, but to be fair I put that bag through hell, it held up well for the abuse i put it through, just not as well as I had hoped, but for the price I couldn't complain since I did get it very cheap. Any bag that falls apart at the worst possible times though I will avoid, but I wouldn't have known if I didn't take my gear out and actually use it. Is this an explorer or a condor? I ask because if condor is contracting explorer to make their bags now then I need to get a new bag. I use the same bag as this but it's a condor and mine looks ever so slightly different than yours and mine does not have that explorer looking logo on the inside I just went and checked.

Of course you can find both for less than MSRP. Also, you might try using Condor's site for measurements ... or even a ruler. Inches and cm are a little more standardized than "arms" and "flashlights". 0.5L water bottles are the only thing approaching useful. Also, would it matter if I took it on a trip, but didn't take the syringe and didn't backwash it? My trip's going to last about 45 days, and I want to minimize weight.

ok you said back washing but your put the syringe on an pushed the water the same way the filter normally works to back wash to got to go the opposite direct meaning you have to put the syringe on the mouth piece an push the water back thru

I would appear from your video, you need to wash the filter in the other direction. Backwash not forward wash. Another tip, put an all silver(1964 or earlier) quarter in the bottle to kill germs. I totally love the system, I use it daily.

You back washed the filter the wrong way. You are supposed to squeeze the syringe water through the opposite side of where the water goes in to the filter.

is it waterproof?

I am trying to find out how big the volume is of this bag. Normally it is indicated with liters, but with this pack it is all of a sudden indicated with cubic inches. Either we use liters or cubic inches, but in order to be able to compare let's just use one system.

It's called back flushing. And why do you think it's called "back?" YOU ARE DOING IT THE WRONG WAY. I knew this guy had something wrong with him when I saw him trying to scoop out water from the lake instead of just submerging the bottle.

Take this video down, you are demonstrating the WRONG WAY to clean the filter. It's called Backwash for a reason. Wash backwards of flow. This video can confuse a lot of people

Hey, did you ever work out how to back wash it properly? You're supposed to backwash it through the drinking straw, but the syringe and straw don't seem to be compatible in sizing.

So what you did there towards the end of your video was drink the filtered water out of the same cup that had just contained the unfiltered water. Not a very smart thing to do. Moreover, this particular product from Sawyer is useless for anything other than sucking water through the straw while the bottle is in a vertical position. As you demonstrated, given the actual filter sits at the bottom of the bottle, once you try and tip and squeeze the water out, the flow stops. Their Squeeze Mini is the best product for backpackers, not this bottle.

You zipped up your ammo pocket the wrong way (for you)! Ditch the Harbor Freight cheap flashlight. They sell nothing I would trust. You should also probably have two quality knives in your bag, one of them (if not both) full tang fixed blades. You can put a folder in your pocket. At least you have some good reading (the Constitution) and fire tinder (the bible). The Condor Pouch will hold a 32 oz. Nalgene. Also you mentioned the cup as a canteen (which it is not). You just drank out of the same cup you put the dirty lake water in... You even said it yourself.

This is Not a Condor pack, you can tell by the MOLLE on the font two smaller pockets. The size is still the same. This pack being displayed is Explorer or another brand.

Pretty good review, except that I have to agree with BeckAdventures. If you go to Condor Outdoor's site, you will see key differences in the back panel mesh, the molle rows, D rings, buckles, etc. I have 5 of these as "Get Home" backs, range bags, etc., and bang for the buck, the genuine article packs are worth it. Beware of counterfeits.

How about a sleeping bag?

Great video, and thank you. BUT you repeat way to much, this video could have been 5-8 minutes easily. You keep saying "time is only permitting me to do so much cause i want to be strait forward" and then you procede to waist time by repeating and not being strait forward. (this is just some constructive criticism, I still gave it a thumbs up.)

@Harmon Shine-Traeger, No. It's not waterproof. I use his bag as a Get Home Bag (and love it), but put everything inside in their own waterproof pouches, zip lock bags, etc.

I just got the condor compact assault pack 12/22/2013 although I haven't put anything in it all the straps would come lose or slip through the strap buckle under its own weight. Buying off amazon you could be paying up to 50 bucks for something that should be 15 shipped judging from just looking at it and simple tug and pull with nothing in it the buckles could slip. I like it for what I need it for but the straps just blows the zippers are buttery smooth but the buckles are garbage
