Flexible NiCop brake line might work for less weight, any reason why you wouldnt want to use that ?
@96vmax45 ай бұрын
I assume you are in reference to the hand bendable automotive stuff? Nickel copper line is metal and the line these calipers are made to use happens to be ptfe reinforced with kevlar or something similar. This plastic line for lack of a better description is much easier to bend and a lot lighter than nicop.
@SV-cg3sk5 ай бұрын
@@96vmax4 the plastic line sounds so expensive! good luck man
@96vmax45 ай бұрын
@@SV-cg3sk the stuff from "Italy" is about 20 bucks a foot. The Chinese stuff from the other side of China is about 40 bucks for 3 meters of it. I might have 80 in the lines when I am all said and done plus fittings.

Single point the spindle threads?
@96vmax45 ай бұрын
Yes, cutting the threads on the lathe after finding out that not even snapons m16x1.5 die is that robust to cut more than 1 set of threads

Are your related to Tim Hummel?
@96vmax45 ай бұрын
No the builder of the airplane originally was morry Hummel, he designed and developed the ultracruiser and a couple of others. The kit can be bought or scratch built. Mine is going to be a bit of both.
@mattpoland82006 ай бұрын
Yes but if it's overweight and you get caught you won't be flying the airplane anymore

If you reduce the heat sink surface it will run hotter, so don't drill any holes in the Finns
@96vmax46 ай бұрын
I think you are thinking reducing mass. By drilling the holes I am increasing surface area not decreasing it. Mass is relative to the rate of change, surface area is relative to rate of dissipation.

I am choosing to use a tillotson hd80a carburetor on that engine, so it can run in any orientation.

The last 2 stroke airplane I had did have a recoil starter but I never used it. Much more fun to prop start so you should be good removing the recoil. Pull that crankshaft out and give it a good inspection. With the amount of rust I bet it will need replaced or rebuilt. I had considered mounting my 447 inverted but I didn't think it would fit between the frame rails. I'm interested to see if you can fit it in there like that. I used snowmobile pistons and rings in my rebuild.
@96vmax47 ай бұрын
As I do some work on the engine I will be taking the tail apart and accessing what all I need for parts or materials to put it together correctly. The crank needs some bearings. Seems the supply for those bearings might have dried up a little.

Okay I have to ask.... How did you make this magazine? Original gas mag internals set into a Hi-cap winder magazine or what? Thanks for any info you can give.
@96vmax410 жыл бұрын
i started with a hi cap plastic electric g36 mag and then changed the flow path of the bbs into the side of the gas mag then the gas mag got a trip to the mill and a co2 adaptor was installed into where the gas fill valve was then i could connect regulated co2 pressure to the gas side of the mag and the electric hi cap mag was feeding the bbs into the side of the gas mag and into the gun there was alot of changes made to the bb tube to make it work properly and i should have used the connector tube from a box mag in place of the plastic bb shoot that i built by hand but i made it work and it works to this day
