@andyhill831229 күн бұрын
@@SeaSmith Thank you, not sure if I've already mentioned this but I only got back into sea fishing this year after 25 years, sonik vader xs 15ft was recommended (they were cheap) but oim finding them not to be very sensitive when they need to be, so I have been looking at some different ones, Penn tidal, AFAW 6&bait and centry fireblade GT which I know is a little more than the other's, I also have a very understanding wife. I'm not going to rush in I will do a bit more research and treat myself to two new rods in the new year. Ps I look forward to seeing your videos each week they look more real world than some.

@@SeaSmith there is such variation in price it's hard to know if paying more money is getting you a better rod.
@SeaSmith28 күн бұрын
@ I’ve always asked myself 2 questions when buying rods and reels. ‘Will it catch me more fish’ and ‘will it make my sessions more enjoyable’. I’ve leaned to mostly Penn stuff as it seems to tick both those boxes fairly well without having to spend stupid money. Nearly all my boat reels are Penn and have to say they get an absolutely beating and never let me down once! Maybe one day when I’ve mastered a 250 yard pendulum cast I’ll justify a £600 shore rod but at the moment I just don’t think there’s value in it for me.

Thanks! There’s lots of parking right up close along New Lane leading into Saltgrass Lane. It can get quite busy with camper vans and other users but there is quite a lot of space. Only thing to look out for is on really big spring tides/surges the lower sections of the road can get submerged!

@SeaSmithАй бұрын
For sure! I’ve known of some double figures coming out of this stretch and towards hordle. Plus, if the tide/conditions are too strong, you can always fish the backwaters (behind the shingle bank) which can offer fantastic bass fishing.

@SeaSmithАй бұрын
@@JasperThorne-o7d Hi pal, if you’re looking for a keeper bass off the boat the needles is your easiest/best bet! Live baiting on a float can pick out the bigger fish or a metal jig close to the bottom. From the shore I’d suggest mackerel head and guts and cast close in. (Although they will pick up pretty much any bait if they’re feeding!). With most sea fishing the most important factor will be conditions, you’ll benefit from a nice onshore breeze producing some good surf and decent tides to have the best chance. Any of our local beach marks will produce good bass. Best of luck and do let me know when you’ve landed a whopper! 👍 🎣

@SeaSmith is this time of year a good time?
@SeaSmithАй бұрын
@ the last few months are the best time of the year for big bass fishing. As we move into the colder months and mackerel shoals move off the shore fishing can quieten (although you can still catch). I’ve found good bass fishing off the boat all year round 😊
