If Seiko actually gave a shit about their customers they´d upgrade their bracelets and clasps. And they should start regulating their watches since they´re starting to raise their prices.

My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from amzwatch

I've owned around 15 different Seikos, and for what it's worth, the Sumo was the only one with zero QC issues. I just wish the regular Sumo had this angled bezel insert, as it just looks too flat and cheap on the wrist.

I felt exactly the same about the 5 link, as an owner of a BB58 on a 3 link, I tried on the Monochrome with a 5 link, and it didn’t feel right, sort of dressing up a tool watch, tried on one with a 3 link, fell in love and bought it on the spot without hesitation! Without any colour pops, it reminds me of ice, every time I look at it, which is a lot!

Beautiful watch. The aesthetic overall is militaristic. Indices look like bullets and warheads. Choice of font for the bezel numerals is similarly suggestive. It's a pity bezel action isn't as nice as I expected. Also seems a bit pricey without saphire.

A great point about the lug with. On the supplied strap it's OK but definitely not a strap monster. I'll be sticking with my current dive watches. but If I didn't have a diver and went diving this is surely worth a look. Thanks for sharing.

I happen to be wearing my blue King Sumo as we speak. It gets a lot of wrist time even though I have small wrists. It is so comfortable!!😁

I've got 61/2 inch wrist and wear a gen 3 green sumo no problem it's a big watch but somehow wears just fine

Ah yeah the solar gmt sumo is awesome and its super tempting. If i ever rebuy a sumo it'll be one of the solar gmts for sure

@@thewatchidiot Yep. I have the solar gmt on the seiko bracelet. Works well on my 7.25" wrist and scratches that Sumo itch. If i did not already have this Sumo, I would be all over yours for 700 USD. I paid around 375 for the quartz version new grey market.

I recently adjust my way off time 6r35 Sumo, and it is staying 10seconds ahead of realtime for 10 days, I am actually shocked, I don't think any swiss watch can do this, It is unbelievable, also the way the case feels on the wrist is probably one of the best in the world in my opinion, Again, I am shocked at the accuracy of this thing I keep telling myself it is a fluke and it is not!!! upvoted!!!

Thats awesome to hear, 1 second a day over 10 days is fantastic for any watch no matter the price tag! Its sad that seiko movements can sometimes start off inaccurate but they are definitely capable of fantastic results with some adjustment. I adjust my SKX it was losing 20 seconds a day, and while i didnt get it as accurately as you, its now gaining 7-8 seconds a day which is acceptable for me. And this was just me popping the caseback open, adjusting it, and waiting a few hours to check the progress lol!

So, you are comparing your Seiko movement that you had to regulate to your Swiss movements that you didn't have to regulate? And you are happy that you had to regulate it?? Wow....the things I'll read on the internet...

Your description wasn’t very clear. Do you mean it’s running +10spd or is +10 after 10 days and thus running +1spd? I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume it’s the latter. You think that is better than any Swiss movement? I have a single counter example, thus destroying your argument. My Omega SMP runs at +0.5 spd on average and sometimes better. Seiko 6R movements are hot garbage. I have 3 watches with 6R movements and they all run like crap. One of them will run +55spd one day and -30spd the next. I’ve tried demagnetizing it, too. You had to regulate yours and basically you got lucky that it runs with any consistency. And by your own admission, it was previously “way off”?! I don’t understand your reasoning. 😮 I don’t hate Seiko, I own several. But the 6R movements are anything but accurate and I’ve heard the same from many others. They’re actually worse than the 4R movements, which are basically ok if you get lucky.

@@nedflanders3769 I set it to +10 seconds and it stays there as long as I wear it, it may lose a few seconds over night but it gains it right back to +10 ahead of realtime, it basically isn't moving if I wear it at full wind, It is honestly really crazy and I wonder how long it will stay this accurate, until I bump the watch hard enough probably

I always ignored it bc of the 45mm dimension but while it does wear big it kind of works bc of how awesome the case is. More to love I guess! Definitely the best sumo out there tho so it's on my list now

loool we're on the same page i always thought it was going to be too massive and i admired it from afar. And tbf it feels big but it feels kinda right at this size. all of its dimensions feel well utilized so it doesnt really feel like its big for the sake of being big (although a 42mm version would be insanely good 😁)

lol yeah the first two gens are good, i like the angled bezel insert and the fact that its aluminum but for some reason the typeface of the bezel numerals never quite landed for me. I wish it did tho!

Even before I watched the video I will tell you good choice. I have a Sumo Pepsi and I just put a navy blue rubber dive strap on it last week. I love it !! I had a jubilee bracelet on it which was fine but in my opinion a dive watch should have a rubber strap. Best of luck ! 👍🏻 I for got to add I agree with you about the straps, they can look small on such a big case 22mm would have been better.

Its an awesome watch for sure no doubt about it! and yeah theres something about the lugs that looks fantastic on nice dive strap (if only it was 22mm, cant believe i'm saying that lol!). It really accentuates the curves and lines of the entire case and it feels more tool watchy. Makes me want to keep the watch now😬

Absolutely agree, I go back and forth with rubber strap and bracelet exactly because of this, I need to look for more with the "flaring" out that makes them both appear wider, but also wear more comfortably. Nice to see I'm not the only one!
