You are one sharp cookie, Mister. Great repair! One question, as a statement. It looks like you would have heated the finished gear in a fire to aneal / normalize the welds . I guess you're afraid of messing up the heat treat. I'm just thinking the welding draws the gear to the new plate and causes stress on the outer forged gear. I'm just thinking out loud. Would like to hear your comments on this. I greatly respect your work. What an awesome repair.

Confused??? You can almost identify the last one who repaired it in the same place. I could tell you who put a broken rear end housing together by where it broke again and the braces that were added. 24:12 what if Curtis at CEE used liquid nitrogen to put the insert in place, what would happen when it expanded??

An excellent piece of work, keeping the world turning, as it should, rather than throwing the part away, if it can be repaired, fix it.

Great video. Good job. I would just ask why make a threaded repair? The solid axle broke on a strong tractor. It seems to me a better repair would be a 100% weld. I'm just asking. I know the challenge would be to keep it straight. I think I have seen you make solid weld repairs before I see a lot of your repairs and have great respect for your excellent skills. I learn something with every video. You do great work.

It’s shitty work because the weld will soon fail. He should weld the original piece back together without all that extra work.

I don’t think this will lost long, bull dozer hub gear driving final drive sprocket & track ( dozer chain ). Once when the machine is on load positively will brake again..may be ideal fr free running. Waste of work.Best thing to replace with seconds hub gear.
