I've watched like 50 of these Indian machine shop videos and this is the very first one where I have seen someone using an angle grinder with a disc guard attached. Way to go!

If you look at what's welded to what, you'll find that the axle-to-flange torque is being transmitted entirely via the threads. Strip the threads and the flange falls off.
@marioncobaretti2280Ай бұрын
Axles are made to twist and take shock,when you weld them that a non twisting brittle spot that can break

Yess ! good job , but my worry is the impact of heat as result of welding
@nineteen-sixty-nine93732 ай бұрын
Nice try but i think it wont last very long.The weld dont penertate enough,Also if it were spun in the other direction and the weld fails the screw threads will come unscrewed.A lot of power is put through it when in use.

It pretty obvious that the load limit of the truck is irrelevant and it’s the physical room available to put more on the truck. No wonder the axle broke. It doesn’t matter how good the repair is the axle will be the weakest point in the drive train I suspect it won’t last long given the loads carried.

Saluti..

Little wonder that shaft's break when you see the overloads they pile onto their trucks. Don't these guys ever use cutting oil / coolants regardless of the material they're turning?
@User0000000000000004Ай бұрын
Some materials require coolant, others don't. I don't know enough to give you a detailed list but I know enough to know that it depends on what you're cutting and/or cutting with. If you don't need to use coolant then why would you bother with the mess?

Said someone who clearly knows nothing about actual welding repairs or the need to 1) carry out the correct weld "prep" that includes the removal of all damaged steel that also includes everything that contains micro cracks 2) use the correct welding rods and follow correct welding procedures 3) Pre-heat the 2 parts to 200 deg C before starting the welding 4) wrap in a thermal blanket and allow to cool down slowly when finished welding 6) carry out proper post weld stress relief 7) re-temper the welded part to match the OE's specification. What we have seen is yet another iteration of a "Click Bait" bodge that will not last the week out in actual use. As for being "Stronger than New" Please explain how you have decided this to be true?

Comments sound like a bunch of jealous people. You are a master of your trade and should be proud of your finished product. You would make a lot of money in a machine shop in the States. I'm sure if you had access to cutting fluids, you would be using them.
