I’m “th-ehl-ty th-ehl-ee” years old and went through five years of speech therapy. None of that helped. Not the pudding, not gag reflex inducing floss tricks. I speak for everyone with rhotacism “get bend, slunt.”

My father was good in the past, but after he hit 50s, he started acting nervous about everything. When I or my siblings forget something or make a mistake, he becomes like crazy. He wants us to become angels without any mistakes or defects. tho he himself sometimes makes mistakes, even when he makes mistakes, he often puts the blame on us somehow, Literally, he has become a negative energy in the family, I'm really tired of it, we're all tired of it, I'm so desperate that I'm looking for a solution on KZbin....

redirect her or use the 2+2 strategy. Give a choice and a positive consequence then a choice and a negative consequence. That way she can see what she will earn when she complies and what will happen if she doesn't

I'm not sure what RSP means in your district, but if the student has an IEP you can read about the student's testing, present levels in areas of concern and goals for the student. If the student has behaviors, he/she should have a behavior plan. Good Luck!

hurt people hurt people. My guess is that he has been hurt by one or more people in his life. Maybe you can ask him what he needs and it will help to change how he interacts with you. I'm sorry you are going through this. Find a trusted adult that you can talk to. It will help you get through. Also remember that a kick is also a boost. Someday you will use this experience to your advantage.

Sounds great in theory, but what do you do when they say "don't do it?". Giving them a choice is a great idea, but if it's a task they may hate like writing, they will just choose not to do it. A better strategy might be giving them choices on where to work on it, different writing utensils they can choose, paper, etc. Choosing to do it or not do it makes them think they don't have to??? Hmmm.....would love to see this in action
@carlabutorac6240
@carlabutorac6240 Жыл бұрын
You would of course pull out every strategy you have in your tool box that breaks down the barriers to why they are refusing to do the task. Something is getting in the way and it might mean that they just don't know how to do something. Once you have given them every advantages, taught the lagging skills that they said were in the way, then when you need to set a limit you can use this. If they still choose not to, there is a consequence of not getting something they really want.

As a teacher with increasing experience in the spectrum and its many phases, I am shocked at the lack of viable exposure these young people have been living with. Go for it. Make it so familiar that protection from ignorance and stranger danger becomes itself intergenerational.

I tried this last night, and it worked. He didn't know what hit him. I'm going to keel doing this, I also got some goodies to reward him with. How often do I reward? Everytime or every couple of times. I got some toys, knickknacks. Any suggestions on other rewards?
@carlabutorac6240
@carlabutorac6240 Жыл бұрын
So happy it worked! The rewards are really individualized. What does your child really like? You might start with rewarding every time then every other time, and see if you can wean him down to a verbal praise for doing the right thing

So what to do if you're the one starting the conversation in a respectful manner but get yelled at?
@carlabutorac6240
@carlabutorac6240 Жыл бұрын
then ask that the other person be respectful if they want the conversation to continue. If they can't then tell them you can try again later. You do not have to subject yourself to abuse. Put the ball back in their court and see what they decide. Do they really want to talk to you or not.

Does a score of a solid 10 over the course of a person's childhood guarartee they will end up with C-PTSD later in life? I'm Asking for a friend
@carlabutorac6240
@carlabutorac6240 Жыл бұрын
What this means is that a person with this score would be very likely to suffer from one or more of a list of things regarding their health. Obesity, substance abuse, other health conditions. What this doesn't mean is that a host of negative things are a guarantee especially if that person has supporting people around them and they get professional help.
