I got one of these slightly better built than this one, with better base (metal) and came with locking nuts. It... Works. For a mini bike (dax 125) does the job to hold a modular helmet (Medium) and a summer protective jacket. Winter jackets won't fit with helmet. Where you had your orange stripe, mine have a silver reflector. Awina 9001 is one of the names.

I had a bunch of o-rings come out on that pipe for the fuel line. and now I can't re-connect it after removing the tank. Any advice.
@sethbrown91979 ай бұрын
The o-rings should not have come out of the line. It sounds like they were dry and stuck to the tank fitting. You may need to replace the line.
@nicklittle6269 ай бұрын
Hmm thanks. Makes sense. I couldn’t find anything online. So the o-rings are meant to stay inside the line itself I assume and hence why the line wont fit back on?
@sethbrown91979 ай бұрын
@@nicklittle626 Yes, the black plastic part that snaps over the metal pipe has o-rings in it. I assume that's where they came from.

I did the same on a Honda shadow 750 I had a few years ago. I just put hard tail struts on the bike, got shorter exhaust(so the cans would hug the bike, cause I lived in the French Quarter, New Orleans) and made a hard mount for the cans connecting to the passenger peg brackets. Worked awesome! Plus the cans were roughly the size of Harley bagger saddlebags. Plus got an old CB rack which I fitted with some flat bar from Home Depot. So I could live off my bike with no issue. Put a small box on the back and did Door Dash and Uber Eats. Plus I made a shotgun holster(out of PVC which I heated and formed it to fit my shotgun) on my forks(which I extended) for my Mossberg Shockwave cause I drove anywhere in New Orleans even after dark. I miss that bike.

Either the lowering link bearing is loose at both ends, or you have some other bearing that is failing. The rhythmic rattle is usually a sign of something gone very bad. Best to take off the wheel and check all the bearings and bushings from the wheel to the shock. Usually one wearing out is caused by something else vibrating... or not lubricated... or overheated. Nice helpful video tho!!

@bobkelly2447 Жыл бұрын
NO that is not a lowering link failure that is a failure of the suspension setup.... increase your dampening on the rear !

Lower the tipple trees in the front as well ! this will keep the steering geometry the same I lowered my XR650L by at least 2" with the adjustable lowering link... with those you have to make sure you still leave enough threads in the coupling nut to hold strong ...if you only have 2 threads in the nut it will rip the threads out and you'll be sitting on your tire ! I left 5 threads in mine.... I have a 30" inseam and can flat foot my bike , but I also cut down the seat and lowered the front...and cut 4" off the side stand.( so technically i lowered it 4".I don't care what the product info said it lowered it 4")

About using dish soap as a rubber lube when installing tires or bushings on aluminum wheels or shock absorber bodies dish soap , Bath tub soap, laundry soap, shampoo, etc.. generally has LYE in it. LYE, also known as sodium hydroxide is the natural born kryptonite for aluminum. If any soap of any kind burns your eyes such as shampoo or shower gel soap, or a bar of soap, if it burns your eyes, that’s the sodium hydroxide/LYE in the soap that is burning your eyes. It feels like it’s a great lubricant because that is the ingredient in soap that makes it feel so slippery and slimy. But you don’t want to use it as a lubricant to install a shock bushing in an aluminum shock or when installing tires on aluminum wheels..
