How was he able to get into the car and start it so fast ? was the car unlocked and the keys in the car ?

No, it was locked, he used a shaved key. He was an experienced thief and was caught a few days later in another stolen Honda.

Always a great idea to leave your keys in your car with the door unlocked so somebody can steal it. Brilliant

The doors were locked and the keys were in the house, the thief used a "jiggler" key. He was caught 2 weeks later with a stolen gun after running from the police in another stolen Honda and crashing.

I knew right away that he was going to go for the Honda Accord. Those Honda Accords from the 90s were one of the most common stolen vehicles of that decade. Their security was lacking in that day and Honda has since added much more sophisticated security innovations to prevent theft from happening. My late grandfather who was an attorney had one stolen from his office back in the day. I think his was like a 1992. They found the car 6 months later, but at that point he had already purchased a new car.
