I do like the shuttles to ashmont rather than running the braintee branch route. It's working well with the free commuter rail service, and keeps people out of traffic as much as possible. This has been a bit less inconvenient than last year's closures.

Total BS Every 2 weeks some part of the MBTA has been shutdown for one week to almost over a month at some lines since 2020. All for the same excuse and never ending work. Remove speed restrictions, change switches and relays and change tracks. Just check what happened to the B line . Which underwent major repairs (wink wink). How many relays and switches in one line? How many speed restrictions in one line? The amount of money the MBTA cuffed up to contractors since 2020 alone would have been enough for a new transit system in the entire North East. No accountability.

I don't know if you're seriously asking or just complaining for the sake of complaining, but the Braintree branch has 39 switches and 37 speed restrictions. There are probably a couple hundred relays, but I don't have access to a signal diagram, so I can't be sure. Systemwide, there are currently 61 speed restrictions. This time last year, there were 230.

@@andrew_ray Both! Again since 2020 there have been closures in the name of removing speed restrictions and changing switches and relays. In fact the MBTA was bragging it di so. So they remove them in random or just because. Not necessary from the get go otherwise won't need to remove them. Unless someone fkd up. And there is a lot of that going around the mbta. Check green line B branch history. They work and reworked and pretended to work. The next day they opened the B line after the last scheduled day it broke down 2x. Using second hand switches and relays? I am not even going into the track issues.

@@lowbudgetethiopian8300 You can ignore anything before 2023, because the previous General Manager was a basket case appointment whose directive from Charlie Baker was to cut costs wherever possible. It turns out that under his management, people would just lie about getting work done and nobody would check. So here we are now, doing all of the work that we thought we had already done over the previous five years or so.

So in other words new GM is in charge of bunch of corrupt liars and numbnuts which opens a wide door for huge corruption. Before anything he should clean house. It's almost guaranteed that we will go through this in less than a year. With use and throw tracks and relays. That explains why we saw new tracks laying along Comm Ave for years and never got replaced. In some areas grass is growing on them. Once in a while seen huge 18 wheelers and cranes cutting and moving them around not being installed. Jackpot! Got it! Sad

I rode the T today to the commuter rail for first time ever when to Worcester the first time riding to WRTA bus for the first time and then back to the commuter rail and home finally and it is now past 12 AM so it is technically yesterday ago since I rode it.

Are Charlie cards even still available? Reports are the New York OMNY card is hard to get and they're emphasizing chip credit and debit card use.

The NYC OMNY cards had a 3-4 months shortage but nowadays you can get the prepaid OMNY cards at Walgreens, CVS etc without any problem. I hope such a card will be also the replacement of the CharlieCard here.

Yes? It was down this afternoon at 6pm no one knew including the inspectors along Comm Ave couldn't tell me what was going on. Fake upgrades since 2020. And if you take a look at the rails they just installed closely they skipped or rushed to finish the clamps on the side one side with just one bolts where you go to Washington Street or further down Babcock all clamps are doubled and secure. Take a walk and look at it. Also I am.guessing there will be another shutdown soon again from Washington up? MBTA is a joke!

The trains must be working in order to use the new system. They out on a track and signal repair excuses every other week. At the same time the new signal and tracks also infected with outages. Since 2020 the amount of money the MBTA spent on the entire green line in the name of repair would have covered for a new transit system for the entire NE. Give these tap systems couple of months they will certainly be for decorative purposes only.
