You have offered the hard sell approach which means I will avoid this product. Stick to used cars.

Can this trim kit be used as is if you have a moen standard valve?
@robsretroengineering5888 күн бұрын
Why didn't you put some aluminium or brass in and demonstrate what the mini lathe is designed, or specifically claimed to be able to cut. The video would have been far more beneficial if you say put a half inch/13mm ally bar in and turned it down using precision measurements on the dial gauges and comparing with a micrometer. I have a big powerful lathe in my workshop but down bellow ten millimetres it becomes incapable. One of these cheap mini lathes could be the answer.

are you able to add another chuck in the carriage so i can get bore through a cylinder? Drill bit on one end, and the metal bar stock in the other chuck?

I looked at that lathe and what killed it for me was the lack of gearing. It's really just a cheap wood turning lathe with delusions of grandeur.

No... you want the set screw facing down... that's why there is a cutout on the bottom of the tub spout.

@richardingram3517Ай бұрын
I bought one recently and initially I was quite pleased with what I received. These machines always need some work to tighten up the gibbs but that is not the most important thing to inspect. First thing you need to do is check the alignment of the headstock and tailstock relative to the bed. If the alignment is not true and square you will not be able to turn a consistent diameter part. It will vary in diameter over the length of the part. This is the ONE thing a lathe needs to do correctly. How do I know, because my headstock was badly out of square. So much so I would have returned it but did not discover this because I was playing with the "fine tuning".

Is the diverter supposed to fall like that unless you have the water running. I could be wrong but I could swear that with my old one I could flip the diverter up even when the water was turned off and it would stay up. I mean it works but I have to turn on the tub first while the diverter is down and then flip it up to the shower head.

On the Kohler, the video is right on but the pressure is a bit much. My question is about the little intermediate white plastic round piece. The black rubber grommet comes out...that's clear but the white plastic round piece...does it go back in?

These kits for Moen pull style valves will not work on the old style pull valves. You will need to purchase a handle extension kit. The kit comes with a brass sleeve to extend the pull handle. Otherwise, when you start tightening the the screw you will turn on the water. They do not tell you this. I heard from the Home Depot clerk that he has to send people to online or plumbing stores to purchase the handle adapter. These Danco and Moen trim kits sold will only work on the new style valves, which have a longer stem. Very frustrating. The kits range from $26.00 and up.

Great video, I'm not sure what a lot of these comments are talking about. I learned a lot about the product and some of the basic ways it can be used. Your video was enough to sell me on this machine and I sincerely appreciate the time you took to make the content. So many folks out there are keyboard haters, but when it comes down to it, they aren't making any content nor do they ever have any type of actual constructive comments. It's like Haris calling Trump weird. Great, you think he is weird, now tell me what plans you have for our country! Nothing useful and just your basic school yard bullying crap! Thanks!
