Having been an OR nurse for 30 years, 85-90% of breast bx and mastectomy were HRT caused. Doctors knew for 20+ years that HRT causes breast CA. However, they continued to prescribe them. I think they have finally come to their senses!! Bioidentical hormones are supposed to be the way to go. God bless you Dear Melissa!!!!!

Very informative and thanks. As someone diagnosed within the past 6 months, I found this video to be very helpful. I am lucky like you in that mine was caught early and I did not have to do chemo. You have given me much hope and a peace of mind...

I haven’t caught up with you until now. I’m so sorry you had to go through this … I’m praying for you and can relate to the private parts becoming uncomfortable… I was told by my current dr that I am to only use the vaginal cream for discomfort “ down there” and it has been working … I am not on HRT and I experienced heavy hot flashes for over a year. They have just started to subside .. they are so annoying!! So glad your spirits are up and I just want to say you are more radiant than ever !! 💕💕💕💕. 🙏 prayers sent to you !! ❤ I’ll Ben watching more regularly now to keep up on your progress!!

Thank you. I’m 5 months out. I’d love to know more about the script for vaginal dryness. Seems like I’m no longer supposed to be concerned about it “at my age”. I’m only 67!

Put some smooth river rocks in your freezer. Good to put on neck or tummy for hot flashes. Feels good.

Is it possible for you to share the main ingredient/s of the cream from the compounding pharmacy? No estrogen in it? Whatever it is, it's great you found something to help with "all that"!

Love all your videos. You inspire me. May i suggest you look into the GAPS diet for hormone balance it could also help your digestive issues. Dr. Nastasha McBride is the doctor who has written books about GAPS and has a wonderful website. I love to pass on true wisdom from doctors who are really making a difference in people's lives and she is absolutely one of them. Blessings to you!!

Hey Melissa, you look wonderfully healthy. I know your son who went with his family to become a preacher is finished with his courses and moved back home. Does he get to preach at his church or did he have to change churches? Is he happy he changed vocations? God bless you and yours. Lynne from Texas.

Im happy ur doing well. My experience is not to use hrt but use alternatives. I now am getting great, safe results with wild yam, chaste berry( vitex), maca and sometimes dhea. My dryness is gone and i feel great. Many of us do not like the medical/ big pharma route. Ashwaganda and other nootropic mushrooms are wonderful for mental health, cognition.

So thankful you're doing well. You look beyond gorgeous!! I want to start using the Obagi system-my question is do you still use the hydroquinone? They don't make it with that any longer -or is there a way you can purchase that still? Or is the new(er) system w/o it just as good? I'm praying that you stay cancer free! I had a total hysterectomy at 46 (I'm 64) and not on any hormone replacement, so yes, it's NOT fun with no hormones in the body! And so many if not most medicine(s) take care of "A" but can cause "B-Z"....growing older and/or having health prob's is not for the faint of heart but you really are an inspiration and just stunning!

I am surprised your Dr put you on Tomoxifen since it’s more for Pre-menopausal women. Maybe ask your Dr about Letrozole, it has less side effects. Also ask your Dr about taking some Gabapentin, it took my hot flashes almost completely away., and overactive bladder, gone. Just something to think about. I had double mastectomy and chemo because I had one estrogen sensitive tumor but also HER2+. So even though mine were small too, I opted to throw the big guns at them. Almost 8 years for me. I am researching the emepelle, it’s a cream for your face that emulates estrogen but it’s not estrogen and is supposed to be OK. I no longer see an Oncologist anymore, so I am relying on research. Taking HRT, did NOT cause your BC. I never took HRT and practically no one of the BC patients I took my chemo with ever took HRT. My mom never had BC nir anyone in my family. I think you may have the gene, and so did your mom. Maybe ask your Dr for that test.

Can you please consider mentioning Paxman scalp cooling to prevent chemo induced hair loss. Many women are not aware that this is an option and that you don't have to experience hair loss due to chemotherapy treatment.

Thanks for generously sharing your journey. Re hot flashes, I bought a neck fan from Amazon that works fantastically. It hangs around your neck (doesn’t look too bad - kind of like headphones resting around your neck and blows cool air upwards. It’s USB charged. Excellent when working up a sweat around the house. I mainly wear mine when I’m working around the house and garden and also when working my beehives in a hot bee suit on a summer day and it really helps.

Very wise words Melissa, regarding not listening to the "YT doctors" saying basically every women should be on HRT, and without the decency mentioning what you did, about being precautious if any family history of breastcancer or heart/stroke risks. Some people seem to swallow every advice these doctors tell..It could be dangerous and with damage of no return. You seem to have sailed through yr treatment, or it's just your personality, not complaining, and with a positive outlook on things. Either way, you look great and seems fine, and if one didn't know yr history, you wouldn't be able to tell you've gone through this. I think that is actually what's behind your youthfulness, more so than the HRT tbh.🌸
