I know quite a few people who don't like gore/blood, I'd recommend adding a few blood and gore sliders similar to ultrakill's, it will let a lot more players play your game without being uncomfortable lol. also sometimes having blood turned off just lets people see the screen better so for that reason too

One of my favorite pastimes is seeing how well a dev optimizes their game by forcing it to run on my juiced Celeron N4020 laptop. I managed to get SOTTR to start and run with about 10 fps at the absolute minimum detail and resolution. It can even run Oblivion at Medium settings 1080P with a stable 30ish. I'd be stoked to see your game on it someday. Edit: there should be an easter egg that turns on the shader compilation sounds if you want them🤣

For the shaders, couldn't you compilation on the main menu and use the run through the game as the background?

14:20 I get your point but I feel like the yellow paint problem is a terrible example. Usually, unless you're trying really hard to look, you won't notice the yellow paint in most games, it serves as an extra level of assistance for those who actually HAVE to look around to find the stuff (and is something that can be disabled in a lot of games). Also, even obviousness aside, a large reason it is there in the first place is because these AAA games are so heavily detailed and intentionally immersive that without the yellow paint it can be confusing. For example, if you see a floating glowing key, you might know by instinct that you can pick it up. However, if the keys you can pick up are small, in random places on the floor or tables, and look exactly the same as a bunch of other keys that you CAN'T pick up, then it's going to be pointlessly frustrating. Likewise, it's going to be hard to tell between a jutting part of a cliff that is programmed so you can climb it and a jutting part of a cliff you can't climb that is there for aesthetic purposes. Also, a large part of this "yellow paint problem" is just gamers finding a reason to complain because they hate AAA/modern games, like how a bunch of incels on Twitter were trying really hard to find excuses to hate Spiderman 2 because they didn't like that the game was "woke", and started complaining that you can't do shit like go to a restuarant and eat pizza that is completely irrelevant to the game itself.

feels fun, but dude I don't know if it is me but there's something that should be done about textures, They literally make my eyes hurt. Repeatable patterns in such fast paced game are difficult to look at and they make you really disoriented. not sure if this is intended

I am not a game designer, but I feel like it's good to leave something for players to discover, but you shouldn't make it a necessarity to discover it in order to finish the game, unless that is what you want your game to be like.

I think you’re next game should be a spiritual successor for Thief. you’ve got the same visual style as that game. It’d be interesting if the thief was able to perform the sorts of movement as seen in Mirrors Edge. I think hiding and shadow mechanics would be really cool.
