There not making them like they used to. Many Volkswagon vans have issues, all of them really. They need to go back to the drawing boards and make cars not electronic appliances. It's a disgrace to have faults in electronics, gearboxes etc etc in these modern times.

Yep, I know the Volkswagen cars very well especially the ones that was manufactured, in our local VW factory which have been have been manufacturing VW cars, etc, for more than 60 years. The VW Beetle was built here until the early 1980,s when it was discontinued and the same apply to the Golf mark 1, which was built here until the early 2000,s until it also was discontinued. The only reason our VW factory continue to built them they were much cheaper than new modern cars, and we had so many sanctions against us because of our Government apartheid law. GM, Renault, Opel and Alfa Romeo was the only car manufacturers that left our country in the Apartheid era and the VW, Ford, BMW and Mercedes factories remained. Ps, The biggest car manufacturer in our country was our massive VW factory in the apartheid era, and is now even bigger because we now also manufacture right hand drive models for many countries.

I love all the vintage air cooled VW’s, especially the vans. I had four of them. This museum shows the evolution of the company from its beginning to the present day. When I win the lotto I will be contributing to them so that the museum stays alive for future generations to see. Thanks for the tour.

Barbosul, You need to change the video speed to 60 fps (frame per second) if you use a DSLR and/or slowly pan (move) the camera while standing and not moving. Practice that. Watching this video gets us dizzy. Thanks.

Dieser miese Diesel-Betrugs-Konzern verdient Milliarden, kann sich aber kein vernünftiges Museum leisten. Stattdessen fließt alles Geld in die scheiß Autostadt, deren Besuch ungefähr so spannend ist, wie eine Wurzelbehandlung.

I visited VW Autostadt back in 2015. I could have spent all day at the museum but the folks I went with were not exactly car enthusiasts.

Disappointed in the lack of respect for the Type III. Not one single Squareback (Variant), Fastback, or Notchback, although nice to see a passing glance at a rare convertible (prototype?).

I own the first ever prototype of the first Australian built and designed Volkswagen, they were an open utility vehicle somewhat like a Kublewagon or Thing, but without doors, think of something like a BMC Mini Moke. After restoration, it should go to the museum. Ps ,I have a 67 type 2, a 72 super beetle, I've had a 65 kombi, several 70s type 2s, 3 beetles from the early 60s too.
