***for that price off course it must sound great, specialy if you use those modern speakers. I had designed and built since the 1950´s several amplifiers, but perhaps never more than 40 watt per channel flat +or- 1db 20 to 20,000 Htz, total harmonic distortion 0.05 % ; it sounded really good with volume seting half way, it was in the living room, but full satisfation come along wen I built the spearker boxes designed by a professional sound specialist. The tubes I used in the output were, special at those times , 6AS7 or 6080, EL34, KT66, KT88, the best results I had were with 6080, at those times used as voltage regulators, due to the high anode current for 2 tubes 6080 per channel the power supply were a chalenge using a circuit I designed, each triode needs 135 volts at 125 milliamps, so I put triodes supplyed in series to accomodate voltages and currents more suitable for a classic power suplly. But all of it is gone, we can make a sound amplifier for less heat dissipated useless, less compact, with the same electronic specifications as those of tubes bygone and for much less cost. The real secret is the speakers system. It is the same to have an omega watch in a case of gold, or have a quartz watch in a stainless steel case with even much better acuracy time wise.***

Hope you will review the Fidelis Sublime; The Fideles Sublime is a different animal to its brothers. This is the approach to design a high output Moving Ferrum Pipe cartridge with ALL the core features of a top-flight MC cartridge. Titanium 1100 body, a Boron cantilever and Shibata EVO stylus - features of (some) MC cartridges in the range of 7k to 15k MSRP. This in combination with super compact and light weight Ferrum pipes resulting in a cartridge with 3.5 mV output and a easy moving mass match for ALL modern tonearms. This is by far the best MFP cartridge on the market today and a serious contender in the 5-8k$ range of Moving Coils today.

I listened to OCMIKE playing Tube Amps compared to all Digital Transistor AMPS <& I appreciated the Transistor Amps better & that did surprise me. One Tube Amp he had was very Bright & generated a ton of Heat. That clearly was the most transparent of them all. Just like live vocal talking. But there's a Big But. Too much ~Heat~ Light... I am happy with a cheap QSC GX7 750 watt Amp.

Jadis no está mal, pero no es nada maravilloso. Son equipos con bastante ruido de fondo, y un buen equipo no debería permitirse eso.

I have my SME 20/Series 2 turntable since 2004 and my SME V tonearm since the early 1990s. The V has been back to SME in the U.K. for 'refurbishment' on two occasions, the first time was in 1998 and more recently in 2020, just before the U.K. departed the European Union. Needless to say, I love these two items which are symbols of great, specialist British engineering. I was all set to purchase the Model 20 Series 3 turntable when I retired, but a sudden hike in price by 20% or so cooled my enthusiasm. I was also less than enthused by the fact that the Series 3 has an 'oversized' platter. It is very important for me that a record is properly centred on the spindle before I play it. I think this is more easily achieved with a regular sized (12") platter? Other than that minor quibble though, I consider the purchase of an SME product to be a life long investment, but the cost of entry is now very high.

They shouldn't produce this video as the recording is horrendous, you are destroying Jadis reputation. You should check out other KZbin's video on Jadis amplifiers which is so much better.

I forgot to mention my best sounding amplifiers do not use an output transformer, they are OTL design. The frequency response 20 Hz to 150 Khz ( - 6Db ).

I have been building audio amplifiers for over 40 Years as a hobby. I would rather have an audio system that puts out 20 watts per channel of less that 1% THD over that entire frequency range. I would never build a power amplifier that would make me deaf. You only need that high power for the bass range to push the speaker cone because you have a lot of air to move.

Brilliant options thru Spendor. Modern Sound not really my cup of tea- so, not hearing it i cannot say that i really know. I went with the classic series instead- 3/1, which was actually a gift from my family.

Would have been fun to see close up shots of the amplifier. Some technical specs might have been great as well during the presentation. You show a testing lab but no numbers for geeks like me. Finally, for such an expensive amplifier, 2 or 3 genres of music playbacks (classical, jazz, blues) would have been appreciated. You are passionate and it shows, thanks for providing this content.

That was hilarious, about 20 secs of audio playback out the system to gauge how good it is? I guess you will be doing a long video of comparison and playback?
