the way I did mine, to cover it, I took a 150 dollar bra top for my tracker off amazon, then installed it, and just caked it in several layers of fiberglass gel, like the kind they use to patch holes in car panels and kept going till I had a solid panel, then took industrial strenght adhesive, glued it to the soft top, and some bolts on the railings and then just sanded it and painted it to match the body. For the rear, I gave up on that mess and turned it into a truck bed.

Not one bad comment which really proves the point that this guy is a true benefit to society and happy to share his knowledge or a whole lot of people just have bad taste and I don't believe the latter part because he has proven himself as a modern day Rembrandt via box body Chevy. It's a masterpiece! Kudos!

have you tried other colors like dark brown, black and base of green? your paint job is pretty wicked! love it
@mycoolkeno8 ай бұрын
Yes I have. I do prefer to keep it to green and black usually. I used to use multiple colors but it usually got too busy. Sometimes ill use flat black and gloss black to add depth and shadows. Smaller objects are easier to get away with more complex designs on. Vehicles I tend to keep it simple. Glad you liked the video.

hahaha 1400 genders. Can I use that? As a supply teacher I just address the class as boys and girls and whatever-you-are and ask for hands up if you think you are a unicorn? Marriage is Like a truck!! You should turn that into a country song . You also make me regret eloping a little but I don't know if you would have been available to be my best man in 1989. By the way I play guitar, write and sing if you want to collaborate on that song!

About to do my Toyota yaris. I did my 1984 suburban flat black with big hot-rod style flames from the front of the hood and fenders back to the front doors. It was our "mini-van" and my wife drove the kids to play group in it. The kids voted for the flames. I gave them the choice of black and white zebra or safari style paint, but the 3 boys wanted flames! Kids eh? I never thought of using plant stems like that so this will sort of satisfy my, I mean my kids inner craving for a safari-ish kind of look!! Truck looks great too! I was hauling wood in the trunk of my yaris but a truck would have been better!! I like your just do it attitude!! The world needs more people like you!

Very cool project I would love to see how it’s turned out in the long run so far my two main interest would be with your motor mount design was there any structural failure and stress over time? As well as leaks with the aluminum sandwich and then I hear the pressure treated wood and aluminum is a bad combination how has that turned out? Is your aluminum starting to corrode unexplainably?
@mycoolkeno Жыл бұрын
Motor mount design held up fine. The front piston not so much. I do have another engine though going in over winter. No corrosion yet but I will be replacing the wood too, now that I have access to a spool gun.

@@mycoolkeno Nice to know I’m looking to pick up a new project at the moment I have a JetSki running and ready was thinking like an old fiberglass boat just cause bonding the fiberglass together is more of my norm where I haven’t done as much aluminum work but glad to know there’s design ideas out there that I could follow if I did choose to go with aluminum?
@mycoolkeno Жыл бұрын
@@zacharywinters9413 If you are on facebook. join the jet jon conversion group, mini jet group, franken jet jon group. Fiberglass is an easier conversion but not good for low water/ rocks. There are a few I've seen though that went with the fiberglass route. When running right, the runabout jets are a hoot. Mine cut in the water like a jet ski and when on plane I don't have any worries about the v hull in shallow water. The big thing is to just get you're pump back as far as you can. Good luck and don't be too scared. I had this boat 90% together in about 4 hours with help from a drunk friend. Another 10 hours had all the little stuff figured out. most of the stuff usually converts over easily. Throttle and steering is the only thing you usually got to spend too much time on. Plenty of companies offer different size cables and steering setups. Also look into how you're ski's fueling system works some are designed to have the tanks higher than the engine and other little things that might mess with you after the conversion. Plenty of fixes for that stuff too. Good luck!

Do you have any idea on MPG at 3/4 throttle?
@mycoolkeno2 жыл бұрын
3/4 throttle is probably worse for mpg, it was significantly slower compared to full throttle . I would say I got around 4 mpg at full throttle. I plan on finishing it up this winter and rebuilding the engine so i'll calculate the actual mpgs in the spring.

Staple some reflective aluminum foil to the under-side of your cover, overtop the muffler.
@mycoolkeno2 жыл бұрын
water goes through the muffler too so it doesn't get hot. Remember it was jammed into a fiberglass coffin before I removed it.
