[Unsettling monster guide] 1. [The Watcher, 0:01] [Tameable: No] [Behavior: Curious] The Watcher, commonly referred to as “Dead Miner,” is the most common monster. It watches you in curiosity as you mine. Each ore that you mine makes it more curious. It acts like an allay, finding the same item that you give it. [Tip]: If you try to give it sculk, it will run, and will no longer be around you. 2. [Cave Hangers, 0:06] [Tameable: Yes] [Behavior: Docile, Curious] It is commonly referred to as the “Hanging shrimp,” due to it’s tail shape. It is very friendly, and can be tamed using any ore. It likes to hang around (No pun intended) the player a lot. Like the Watcher, it is curious, and likes light sources. It is not afraid of anything and will fight to save the player. [Tip]: Each ore has a unique effect on the Cave hanger. Diamonds are most effective at taming. 3. [The Clipper, 0:13] [Tameable: No] [Behavior: Curious] The clipper, referred to as “the glitch,” is a rare sight to see. It is very curious and will watch you until you turn around. It likes to feed on iron, and it hates baby zombies. Not much is known about it, as it doesn’t like being watched. [Tip]: Looking at it while it glitches will give a blindness effect and a loss of 4 hearts. 4. [Giant’s Hand, 0:21] [Tameable: No] [Behavior: Angry] The hand of an angry giant. Back away from it without making sudden moves. If it snatches you, do not fight back. Your fate is sealed. [Tip]: Making noise will make it angrier. 5. [The Watcher, 0:29] [Tameable: No] [Behavior: Curious] The mischievous watcher is back. This form of watcher is quite rare, and will scurry away if noticed. Feeding it redstone will make it glow. It likes to watch in areas far away from Redeyes and The Thing. [Tip]: Looking at it will make it scurry or get closer. 6. [Longneck, 0:40] [Tameable: Yes] [Behavior: Friendly] As it’s name suggests, it’s neck is very long. Anyone who tames this monster uses it as a powerful lookout. It’s power is utilized carefully. It can’t fight anything smaller than a zombie. It’s other rarer, more powerful variant has been spotted, however it was unable to be photographed. [Tip]: Keep it inside of a well lit, walled in area so that it won’t die to baby zombies. 7. [Redeye, 0:47] [Tameable: No] [Behavior: Mischievous] It is also called the gremlin because of it’s mischievous nature. It likes to prank the player by breaking torches or smacking them. It can be repelled by anything that is blue. It loves the color red, and hates the color green. It will scurry away after a period of time. [Tip]: Put a blue carpet in your hotbar to use on the Redeye. 8. [Lava Hands, 0:53] [Tameable: No] [Behavior: Territorial] This territorial creature does not like players, and will try anything to end the player’s run. If it snatches you, splash a fire resistance potion, it can’t do anything else to you. If you don’t have a fire resistance potion, say goodbye to the world. [Tip]: It’s arms are short, so you can easily escape it. 9. [The Smiler, 1:00] [Tameable: No] [Behavior: Intruding] This creepy creature likes to stalk the player. It will watch and watch until the player notices. Even then, it will not leave until scared away or you back away from it. It is also sometimes difficult to get rid of, and they will set camp near your base to stalk the player. [Tip]: Use soul torches to scare it off. 10. [Centi-Doom] [Tameable: Yes] [Behavior: Reactive] This creepy crawly likes to lurk in the dead-ends of tunnels. It has a 12% chance to be found. It likes rotten flesh so much that it will steal any rotten flesh that a player has. It seems to only be tameable using a weakness potion and raw mutton. [Tip]: Don’t hit it, it will kill you if you do. 11: [The Watcher, 1:03] [Tameable: No] [Behavior: Shy] This shy version of the watcher does not like to socialize with other watchers. It has a fear of Cave Hangers, however, the Cave Hanger is friendly to this watcher variation. It is not afraid of an angry giant, as it knows the giant will not do anything to it. [Tip]: Approach it slowly to prevent it from running away. 12. [Tired Lurker, 1:06] [Tameable: No] [Behavior: Tired] This lurker seen slouching into another part of the cave was followed by an explorer. The explorer reported that the lurker had a primitive home, filled with basic furniture. [Tip]: Do not bother it. Watch from a safe distance. 13. If caught by these teeth, don’t fight back. Instead, play dead. Stay as still as possible. They cannot sense if you are dead or not. It does not like rotten foods or any kind of vegetable. [Tip]: Kill it with a potato. Potatoes are toxic to them. 14. [The Thing] [Tameable: Yes, if lucky] [Behavior: Unfriendly] This is the most dangerous monster of the bunch. It has a strong hatred for players, but only the best players can tame it. It can be seduced by firing a slowness arrow at it, then feeding it a poisonous potato. This taming process takes a little bit of resilience. [Tip]: After seducing it, splash a harming potion at it, then feed it an enchanted golden apple. This creature is very loyal when tamed. 15. [The Giant] [Tameable: Yes] [Behavior: Gentle] This gentle but playful giant loves to play with the player. It likes to catch dropped blocks and might even give you a little gift it made for you.
