Any deferred consumption in our everything now society is good, even if you lose money just the idea of deferring some consumption today in hopes of generating a return for later is a good thing.

For the next Q&A...Can someone help me understand why ETF's are tax efficient? Is it because an index-replicating strategy would result in capital gains due to the rebalancing of the index? And how come mutual funds are nót tax efficient?

On the reducing the gambling aspect of investing Jesse Livermore realized he had a gambling problem so after one of the times he lost everything, upon making a new fortune he placed a significant amount of his current fortune in a trust whose money he couldn't touch to take care of his family no matter what if he went broke again which he did eventually.

42:17 Should investors care about the presidential election?? HELL YEAH, you fools!! The Republicans are full Fascist now. No more Lincolns, Roosevelts and Eisenhowers in that party anymore. You want to be able to live in freedom with those winnings you take from the market, yes? VOTE DEMOCRAT! VOTE BLUE! At least they will spend and those US Dollars power the economy and make the market go up up and away! Cmon guys. Seriously?!

one thing you forgot to mention is tha the short-term investments in T-Bill increased by 2x billion and currently is less than 15.3 billion and it would generate less than 7.x billion and most of its cash reserve is in fact to meet near-term liquidity. and most companies are not as optimally investable with P/E ratios over 15 while the adjusted cash flow is not sufficient to repay back to shareholders after deduction of employee compensation and capital expenditure.

Andy is clueless. He is currently short bonds, stocks, and Apple. He is getting blasted very very badly. His calls are almost always wrong. Usually the market moves the other way as soon as he makes a call. He posts stupid meme's and pretends like he is smart or has gotten something right when he has been badly wrong. He is just trying to fleece people for subscriptions. He is obviously a paper trader because he would be flat broke if he followed his own advice.

6:00 Matt “unnecessarily gave Uncle Sam money”… what in the Sam Hill are you talking about? You keep on saying this bit about “Uncle Sam” in regards to taxes. I’m an 11th generation American, and I’ve never heard something so Unamerican in my life as not wanting to pay your taxes. Are you some kind of radical, Matt? Are you some kind of libertarian, Matt? What is your deal with taxes? Why are you being Unamerican about taxes? Do you even do your own taxes? I do. Do you even know how government spending and government investing work? What’s this bee in your bonnet that you’ve got with the Unamerican act of being against paying taxes? What’s with that, Matt?

3:00 Hey Bob, the inflation rate is above the Fed’s target of 2% because the Fed has set its Fed Funds Rate above 2%, to 5.25%-5.5%! The Fed Funds rate is the rate of inflation, a continuous increase in the price level… that’s what the Fed Funds rate does, continuously increase the price level… cmon now, you know that, right?

16:15 The Budget Deficit is too small. We need a Transition Job program (Employer of last resort) in order to have a price anchor. The National Debt is Our Credit in the form of Cash, Bank Reserves, and Treasury Securities… I’ll take more please.

@Erikpdx 17 күн бұрын
Why would we need an employer of last resort when unemployment is less than 4%? Uber and the other gig economy opportunities are already an employer of last resort. If you need a job you can go pick shopping items off shelves for busy families. We got a price floor when the two biggest employers, Amazon and Walmart started paying $15-18 min for unskilled labor
