Both great movies. I like to think K added a more human than human element to Joi who was an AI being. Joi was as ephemeral and unique as any human or replicant. She was one of a kind because K breathed life or a soul int her. I may be mistaken but I think I remember that K and Joi purposely tried to do things not permitted by her programming or limited by her programming. The question is, does a being require a corporeal component to be real? I think when K was facing the huge factory Joi it was to set up a juxtaposition of the Joi he made and the Joi that would have been without his interventions. Was he thinking about how he lost her or how she was never truly was "real"? Maybe a human would not require so much of Joi as a replicant like K would and so the interaction between K and Joi was unique based on circumstance.

A good movie, but i can see why they don't perform well. They seem to go out of their way to make the movie as difficult as possible to follow, the dialogue is often hard to hear during key exchange's, quite often the audience has to make assumptions and their are times when they're are no indications if the scene is a dream or reality. You really need to be on for the whole movie in order to get it.

I heard all the buzz about this movie so I watched it, it was very difficult to watch, I couldn't imagine watching it again. For it to win an Academy Award all I could think of it must have been a terrible year for motion pictures. This movie sucked. Daniel Day's performance was good, maybe great but he couldn't make this pile of 💩not stink any less.

As much as I wanna love this movie, the story did not need a 2-and-a-half-hour runtime. It feels like they stretched it out to show how cool the movie looks. It was so slow-paced without enough complexity in the story to justify it. There were many times when I was like "ok I get it, let's move on" I still liked it it was just kind of a let down.

This is actually not true… This take was a rehearsal that’s why Baldwin went like that and del toro allowed himself to laugh.. director thought it was a good scene that humanised the caracteres and got the audience connected with them so he decided to leave that in.

If you read the book buddy it tells you exactly what the star child is and what he did. He put forth his will and brought a brief false dawn to half the sleeping globe. He was now master of the world.He didn't know what to do next but he would think of something. If you have half a mind you will know He stopped WW3, by detonation of the orbital nuclear devices. Technically he saved the world. What would bring a false dawn to darkness? I'm sure The people in nevada in the nineteen fifties could tell you that. The book leaves nothing to interpretation.

You cant bring up a loaded word like misogyny and then proceed to cherry pick a scene or two. Analyze all the women in the film and you'll see that they are the drivers of the story.

In my opinion of the low audience acceptance of 'Blade Runner 2049' at the box office, this is a story about servants, not citizens; therefore, it loses some of its audience appeal. It might have done better by replacing Ryan Gosling and a few other with comedians, even though they are playing serious roles.
@jamesmac357
@jamesmac357 15 күн бұрын
The movie 'Blade Runner 2049' centers around the replicant's life. Instead of looking outside through Deckard (played by Harrison Ford), we are seeing from within with 'K' (played by Ryan Gosling). This has caused two competing themes in the movie symbolism: One is Jungian psychology of what is a true replicant (the movie itself is the replicant K's mind), and then the legacy story of the original 'Blade Runner' movie (1982). Much of science-fiction storytelling is about the audience taking a tour of the future ideal by the artists and writers (for the movies the artists are the producer(s), director(s), the writer(s), and the editor(s) with the cast, background artists, music effects, special effects, and crew being the canvas). This is a tour of a replicant's life before the dystopia that 'Blade Runner' represents.
