Honestly if there was literally no difference between High Seas and Safer Seas except for the absence of PvP i really dont think much would change Yeah wed see player increase in those private servers but with how many people of the community encourage PvP and being Risky then High Seas would still be highly populated. Not to mention that eventually after playing in private servers long enough itd encourage people to go into high seas just for the challenge alone. Dare I say were this to be the case High Seas would almost be reminiscent of the Arena mode with at least most of the players in it being there solely for the purpose of the challenge and PvP, save for the few clueless players who wander into high seas not knowing what theyve walked into

Honestly there really shouldn't be any limit to rep or gold. in fact, the only limits with safer seas should be no rep with PvP factions, and change the legend status to needing 1 PvP faction rep up. Every single other part of this game is purely for cosmetics. It would be 1 thing if higher rep and more gold meant higher damage cannons or stronger ships, but this isn't the case. You shouldn't lock major PvE experiences behind PvP.

I have a suggestion: just remove player damage entirely. Make it sea of friends <3 . Only skeletons can be damaged from now on, everybody is peaceful. Nevemind the part where pirates do pirate things. That's crazy anyways.

just.... give safer seas literally everything that isnt pvp related. Everything. Same rates as high seas. Its not that hard, theres zero need for restrictions, level caps, etc. Just give us a proper PvE mode and be done with it. We have been asking for this shit since launch. Its not worth it for me to play because i detest PvP, and the PvE mode is so shackled for no reason, and this goes for my entire friend group as well. People that like the PvP aspect will play the PvPvE option. People who dont will play the PvE option. MMOs with open world PvP have solved this shit ages ago.

I only care about being able to bring my captain ship into safer seas. Now I am on Playstation so of course I don't have much. But honestly I just want a enjoyable pve experience. That's all I want, is just a enjoyable pve experience and to be able to use my captain ships. Obviously I don't have a ship, but honestly I got turned off from playing this game like day 3 of the ps5 release, because I had 0 reason to play. Now yes I will always be terrible at the pvp in this game, I won't lie about it.

Safer Seas are for p..ies! Back in my day, you had to man-up and face the music. Nothin teaches you how to sail and fight more than a galleon riding yer sorry slooper arse! Arrrgh!

The game has been becoming into some CS Go...no any old SoT vibe where you alone or with friends are deeping into this beautiful mysterious full of riddles sea world coz now it is hardcore PvP shooter aka pirate stylish like some Fortnite or something, where you will be griefed by toxics or hardcore gamers who just playing 24/7...Its why Safer Seas is new breath for those, who wanna relax after hard nervous work day with some boutle of whiskey or with their family and friends avoiding this "GG, Ez Noob ..." and I even don't talking about cheaters ...and anyway in this way now pure PvPers will play against pure PvPers so no any EZ win now - its maybe why those ppl start crying?

After the first distinction, I don't see any reason for me to keep getting reputation up. I don't like the rings as I usually wear gloves. I am a player since the technical Alpha in December 2017. I played when there was only sloops and galleons, no harpoons nor flags, I fought the Hungering One, went with other crews on the skeleton thrones and destoryed mermaid statues. I made a secondary account to play as another pirate without losing my current one. On both accounts I achieved distinctions and ammassed as much gold as I could want. And I got the hourglass curses on both accounts and did the tall tales. Nowadays I use safer seas to explore, chill and relax, sometimes just to try clothes and some fashion. I just play Safer Seas only to have fun because I enjoy being an adventurer with my two pirates. I see the Safer Seas changes as a positive, I doubt anything bad can happen. I dare to say that they could give no restrictions to anything in safer seas and the behavior of high seas player will remain intact. If people want thrills they will go to high seas and if people want to chill people will go to safer seas regardless of the rewards.

I think they should have kept the level cap at 40 or at least the rewards and rep to 50% from 25-40 and then no rep after 40 ofc. As someone who hit PL in the first year when it was a real grind, I am all for safer seas. I took a break from the game when skeleton ships got introduced and just recently got back to it in s12. I play SS just to do the tall tales and learn some of the updates I missed. Like I literally just found out yesterday that you don’t have to run all your loot to each specific company and you can sell almost everything to the sovereigns WAY quicker. Spent 40min selling the other day because I did a legend of the veil.

rare determined to make the kids play together no matter how much they dont like each other why the only people who enjoy having pve players in pvp servers are pvp players who want to bully pve players good luck convincing casual players to risk the hour of progress and constantly be on edge also ill be that guy and point out again that the arena mode died because only 2% of the player base wants a fair fight and all the pvp players want to power trip by ambushing players who dont want to fight at all

Not there yet. Give us captained ships and let us practice fancier missions even if no reward from it such as the legend of the veil quest. And for crying out loud let the dang people fish in safer seas for hunter's call as much as they want.

"Id rather gut the intended experience just to get away from the actual experience." Is basically the sentiment alot of the safer seas community share. And i certainly get it after owning the game since day 1. Sea of Thieves is unironically the Ifunny of gaming. A un-moderated cesspool of vile garbage and terrible people just reveling in the choas while normal people have to try to keep their head down to joy the intended experience without being called every slur in the dictionary.

They have so ruined their game. The smooth brains they're trying to pander to will NOT buy their paid content like they desperately want. Absolutely disgusting.

I left this game when griefers and hacks became a pretty big issue. Safer seas brought me and my community back, but the gold and rep caps kinda suck. 🤷‍♂ People think that having safer seas will drain all the "lambs" (causal players and PvE enjoyers) out of the game leaving only "wolves" (PvP sweatlords) sailing about on the high seas with no one to hunt, forgetting that players who don't want to engage with PvP will just uninstall the game and leave if they're not having a good time. I think it's incredibly smart for Rare to give people the option to enjoy all this PvE content they have worked so hard on without all the griefing.

Eh Ill play again when I can just play it as a full coop/solo pve game. The gameplay loop is solid enough imo. If anyone can point to another game that is anything like SoT thats pve only Id gladly check it out, otherwise people should quit whining that some dont share their enjoyment for PVP but still love the game.

Are the gold and rep changes live now? I was playing last night with my buddy who just started and it said over level 40 was unavailable on Safe Seas not 25. Level 25 seems a little low too with all of the unlocks at level 30...I really wish Rare would let people just enjoy their game.

I kind of wish that almost all of the same world events were in safer seas. Such as the flameheart ship, I see safer seas as more of a creative mode on top of pve. So I would love if they added so you can have friends join with their own ships and make fun fights or do whatever you want. But they won’t

So Rare begrudgingly lifted the obvious garbage decision to cut your rewards in Safer Seas down huh? It might be too little too late for many people. Some players simply want to enjoy the game fully without dealing with PvPers. Yeah, it might not be how Rare originally intended the game to be played, but if players are happy, they are far more likely to get friends involved and even check out the cash shop. Just let people who don’t want to PvP enjoy the game fully, what do you have to lose? Oh right. Less new players for PvPers to grief. We can’t have that, can we?

I'm no "PrO gAmEr" but I like roguelikes better than stardew valley. Pvp is like a hunger clock; the longer you take, the greater the rewards and the greater the risks. As a new player with rep ~ 30 across the big three, gold is already useless. Encountered one pair of griefers, scuttled and moved on.

I actually would have preferred being able to use a captained ship on safer seas so I could sell my loot faster at the sovereigns.

on steam though sf6 has 15-25k daily, while tekken has 6-8k daily

Hey hey, now I can get gold for building up my armada without the chance of other players spoiling hours of work, and actually make good progress!

I quit once they added Safer Seas. The game is built around PvP - removing that threat essentially destroys the purpose of the experience.

They want you to play high seas. That’s the experience they intended the game for. I’m fine with the changes.

This is the best decision they could have made, because how are people supposed to earn enough gold in Safer Seas to buy their own ship, maybe a big one if they want to play with friends an family, if the rewards are abysmal. Now they can get enough gold and get the hang on the mechanics before jumping to High Seas (if they want) without feeling like they are wasting their time.

Finally all these crybabies that play and do nothing but run from every fight against the wind for hours on end then scuttle the moment you catch them have no more excuses. If you dont wanna pvp then dont download a pvp game. I dont understand why this is such a hard concept for some people to wrap their heads around. Hopefully now i can find some actual competition rather than having a 35% chance that any ship i pull up on is immediately going to run and not even attempt to fight back.

They need to let you bring your Captain's ship into Safer Seas and let you bring in more than one crew. THIS would be a game changer

People listen to shut up and be grateful and stop saying let people level up it's amazing that they have allowed us to earn 100% rewards already in of course some people are going to keep wanting more I think people should just be grateful people can earn 100% Rewards it makes sense that you cannot become part of Legend as easy in say for seas because people use part of Legend as a flex on other players to show that they're very skilled but if you became pirate Legend in safer seeds then it just defeats the purpose of having the title of pirate Legend come on guys be grateful that we have full rewards now if the game is way too beneficial from really easy experiences it's going to ruin how fun the game is if it's too easy. Especially since if you can play the game mode without players now with full rewards then you can play the game longer without having to worry about players therefore you get to keep most of the stuff you've worked hard for without losing anything
