Can we hear the bass, an A B comparison would have been nice. For traditional p tone, just play the bass. There is a reason why 80% of the rock/pop hits last century were recorded with a stock p bass. My experience with high mass bridges is that they add sustain and treble, two things I don’t seek in a traditional p tone. Nothing wrong with the stock parts, so idd do your research and play the instrument before spending extra money that might not even improve the tone to your liking.
@christosfragias59227 күн бұрын
@timothysegal3589 . I focussed more on providing viewers with insights on my upgrades. There are more than enough videos on KZbin on sound comparisons, but very few videos on providing informed commentary on upgrades. It's obvious your experiences, especially with Hi-mass bridges, are subjective and possibly some were negative. To clarify your comment, all the upgrades I made I thoroughly researched! Not only was I satisfied with the upgrades, their enhancements to tone and playing were beyond my expectations! It was definitely money well spent. And allows me to customise the instrument to my preferences. Subscribe to my channel! I am positive you will gain many benefits and insights!

Hi christos, did you try out the player 2 jazz bass before settling on the MIJ hybrid? I'm debating on which to get and it seems most are unavailable for me to try.
@christosfragias59228 күн бұрын
@zoiken4 . Not yet. However, if I get into a band again, I'll definitely consider a Player II Series Precision bass. Alternatively, if I don't, I'd like to get a MIJ Hybrid II Precision bass. I've seen a Player II Precision bass as low as $1,000 here in Australia 🇦🇺. Which is great 👍 value.
@christosfragias59227 күн бұрын
@zoiken4 . I should add the Player II series has medium jumbo frets. The MIJ basses will have tall vintage/narrow frets. The former is likely to last longer. Also, the MIJ Traditional and Heritage series have their truss rod nuts located in the neck heel. Meaning you have to remove the neck. The Hybrid II MIJ and the Player II series have the truss rod nut located at the headstock making adjustments quicker and easier.

Thanks for the review. I got a black one with maple neck and I love it. I came here because I wanted to know if the pickups were defective, thanks for explaining that they aren't. I also had no idea what hybrid meant so it's good to have that answered too. Note mine came with the soft case like yours but also had two allen keys, one for the truss rod and one for the bridge saddles. So I presume people in imperial countries would get them and would be wise to hold onto them for the reasons you've said.
