Dismas: "You're on our side. Why?" Vulf: "I could raid and pillage everything I see, I could get all the coin in the kindgom, and it would all be worthless." "For I would have nowhere to spend it." "Unfortunately, not all of the brigands share this view." "There is no honor among thieves, after all." Dismas: "There is a little. We are proof of that." Vulf: "That's true."

I’m so glad I listened to the end! Amazing job! ❤️ My concern with just abandoning the hamlet is all of the poor people who have to live there. Unless the Heir was able to move them all to another, untainted town, it’s their duty to at least make the hamlet as safe and habitable as possible, meaning killing all the nasties.

So I have a theory that the Black Beast isn't really the Thing beneath the Manor, but rather the Shambler. Or perhaps I should say, A Shambler. For starters, the Thing isn't actually black, but Shambler is. Second, his story in DD2, as well as one of his personal Trinkets, seems to support my belief. Lastly, the tentacles seen from some of his attacks.

The one thing I never understood, when you meet Zhang, he pulls a pistol and tracks and kills a Sectoid with ease, yet when you recruit him he's a Heavy. Why? I just feel he'd be better suited as a sniper or assault at the very least, making him a Heavy just seems so weird.

When one story ends, another can start, for while there are many stories, no person can tell them simultaneously, otherwise it would reduce the stories to meaningless babel. The question is then, what is the new story to be spoken? You have already dipped into other stories in the past with the Gods of Plenty, or the tales of the extraterrestrial combat unit, so who is to say that this will be the last story you will express.

Honestly, i found sad that there isn't special soldier "Zhang" like happen with Van Doorn or the guy from the Bureau or even the devs, you can change the name of the soldier and automatically everything change like a "hidden cheat". The only good side is some modders make a Zhang Voice pack mod, and the rest yo can fill in with the ingame customizations so you can match a closer appearance of Zhang in game. I made my own as a recruitable version of Zhang among the character pool (or one you can have right at the start of the game in Gatecrasher), much older with the same scars, hair and voice (thanks to the voice pack), only difference is he is sporting some round sunglasses because they looks cool on him.

Honestly, what was so bad about Advent in the first place? Im talking particularly in xcom 2, sure they did a few experiments to try and cure the elders and they used humans in that cure. But didnt xcom itself kind of overreact?
@gyleymaskey28 күн бұрын
They explicitly ground up humans by the millions to make a concentrated substances to keep the elders from dying. Final solution for humanity involved complete extermination or cattle-like domestication to keep their dying race alive. That's to say nothing about the genocide the war caused, the complete dissolution of human governments, global ecological devastation by exterminating entire species and everything else done to humanity. Humans weren't the only victims, the aliens were largely unwilling slaves and oppressors. In terms of evil, the elders are pretty high up there.

I personally prefer to believe that the creature in the darkest dungeon is lying, there is just too many holes in it's story (Not implying that your work is wrong at all, I have been replaying the videos quite a lot, that's wonderful work !). No matter how you look at it, stress, the mind, insanity, these are it's main weapons. It's easier to manipulate people into hurting themselves or each others than actually handling the situation yourself. The iron crown and it's counter part (the light / flame crown you get when your character gains virtue) are omnipresent, almost always located around the head. It manipulates the heir into feeding it and accelerating it's return, perhaps out of fear ? Even in it"'s dying (?) moment it keeps telling the party / the heir that it was all useless, that it would always come back (insert purple man joke I guess) The ancestor was a puppet (a surprisingly efficient one ._.' how much chaos can a single man create ?) perhaps it was trying to turn the heir into a new one, hence the "revelation" at the end ? When you look at it from the physical perspective, the "heroes" can decimate hundreds of monsters without dying with good preparations and equipment, but with time stress will always manage to break through and probably get them and others killed.

I feel like it actually makes more sense that he did it earlier in his life as you need dead bodies to raise undead armies. So easier to just let the army grow...naturally...as it were. Let the toll of years provide the bodies neccessary so that project isn't too obvious while he is doing other things he needs to spend more resources hiding.
@MiskatonicMemorialist3 ай бұрын
It would but there are issues with the Undead Army existing earlier. If he had an undead army, he wouldn't have needed to hire Brigads to reinforce his control? He wasn't a master in those early years so his skills wouldn't have been enough to raise the undead with their intelligence. Would he just have kept his army garrisoned in the Ruins for years? Even if he did raise them early, the only undead we see are skeletons, implying that enough time has passed for the flesh to decompose, and to top is off, majority of the undead are soldiers from the crypts, not villagers from the Hamlet,, those would be sent to the swine for food.
@jacobfreeman54443 ай бұрын
@@MiskatonicMemorialist he needed the brigands because he needed something in the mean time while he was trying to quietly raise an undead horde. He was already having trouble coming up with the hush money for the stuff that was only kinda suspect. What do you suppose it would cost to hush up a literal army of doom? So best to avoid having to make those payments at all and have the army grow... organically. After all who looks for where the bodies are going when there are supposedly other bigger concerns? Like civil unrest over how the tyrant lord is handling domestic issues?
@MiskatonicMemorialist3 ай бұрын
To keep the undead army a secret? Probably nothing since he has the entire Ruins of his ancestral castle to house them. Assuming he had an iron grip on the town that the brigands secured him, he was in complete control. There was no point in needing to hide his more activities anymore. The financial cost of the excavation and paying the Brigands was burning the candle at both ends. He would eventually run out of money (again) and the Brigands would either leave or betray him. So he would need his own army loyal to him. The lion's share of reanimated bodies are from the crypts of ruins, his ancestral army, maybe some from the rabble, but only a few. Trying to grow the army from the recent dead seems unnecessary and unlikely given that he had other uses for the villagers. Ones that don't leave a corpse behind.

There's lot of parallels between this church and the IRL Church. In the christianism, the fire represents the purification and the flame is a representation of the Holy spirit. There's a metaphor used to understand the Holy trinity: the Father is the sun, the source. The light is the Holy spirit, the media. The warmth and reflected light is the Son, the effect and interraction with us.
