I just realized darkest dungeon is the Olympic torch event in a eldritch setting. You're pretty much running a marathon with multiple people passing along the torch(that's if your party members keep dying) tryng to get to this place to lit it up with the torch.

I am not the only one crying right? It’s from that flame of hope after all. The very thought that each passing through the inn and the stories that the heroes and protege bring with them from their tries and tribulations affects everyone that they meet for the better is a beautiful notion. hope. it changes us, for the better. what once was enougth, with hope becomes a necesity to be better, to think we can be better. incredible story (also the scene of the 4 playing cards and Boudica raging made me pause and laugth so hard. magnificent addition)

This one was deeply, deeply touching. It captured the feel and tone of DD2 very faithfully (take it: it is hope, the very last of it). Best one so far, not even a contest.

Oh THIS was an interesting one. A clever interpretation of the lore... And one I'm going to be considering canon myself, even for the moment! I'm surprised these are coming out daily... I thought it'd be one or so a week, but I am not complaining! I'm excited to see what else you have in store with these stories... and of course your dissection of the game itself after!

It's like Darkest Dungeon 1 and Darkest Dungeon 2. There are parallels and references but it's not exactly told in order.
