Is there any alternative for X-T30 to record more than 15 minutes? There's no way I'll buy Atomos which equally expensive than the camera itself.

You could get hdmi capture card to a laptop or as a Atomos Ninja Star which I do use or any of the older Ninja models some of which go for a reasonable price but you will most probably be stuck with 1080p or one of these amzn.to/4dEr4Os which allows you to record in 4k to your phone.

Very interesting. My one and only flirtation with Minolta was in the film era - the first camera I bought new was an XD7 and I lost it (the camera as well) in Canada in the 1990s. This one intrigues me. I really like the layout and I know there's good glass available. Will it compete with my favourite digital though - my lovely 5MP Kodak CCD packing Oly E-1? Thanks to you - i'm going to find out! (Caveat - doesn't stand a chance on lenses😊). All the best from a cabin in a swamp in a rain-forest in New Zealand.

Very helpful. Even though I'm looking for a slide scanner rather than negs, I've seen mention that the Epsons struggle with 35mm but excel with larger. Your video illustrates the point perfectly, thanks. Looks like I'll be going for a Plustek.

I've used the Bellini c41 kit to play with Phoenix (I don't normally use much colour, so just go with lab processed). People do stress a bit about the temperature control, but the really critical bit is only for 3 minutes (IIRC), so I just filled our large sink, go that to 38, along with all the chems. Once everything was at temp I got started. Enough volume of water will keep that stable for 3 minutes without problems. Also, can Nik & Trick please pick up their Social Media game! They have such an awesome range of products, but get very little coverage. Their range of self-made B&W developers is just superb.

I've found that final wipe (with a pec-pad) is very critical. All the remjet never comes off. And you want to be careful that the remjet side doesn't touch the emulsion side before that final wipe. Remjet can get stuck in the emulsion, which is Not Good. Good video. ECN2 is not tough to do, and the results are great and cheap(er) - just a bit extra work.

There is no Pentax any more. It is Ricoh just using "Pentax" label. It is just zone focusing semiauto with 3 element lens, no manual control of aperture or shutter, no external flash.. for $500 and especially $750 in Europe one would expect at least 1/1000s shutter, full manual control over shutter and aperture and possibly even AF. And when compared to normal 35mm camera, you need to take at least around 4000 images to get the cost difference in film. But who will take 4000 pics with semiauto camera. Those who like film and shoot so many pics usually have SLR.

500 bucks for a new, well made film camera is fine. Buying used will always be cheaper, but it doesn’t cost more than it would have if it had come out in the 80s or 90s and a lot of care went into it.

It is half frame semiauto camera which does not even have manual control and only has zone focusing and 3 element lens.. $250 is too much for that.

It's good for the analogue photography community that a major camera brand has designed and built a bew film camera Hopefully this will be a success and other brands follow suit, this could bring on cheaper film and cheaper developing costs.

I wasn't interested in half frame cameras before, so while its great a new camera has been released it doesn't interest me. I understand they're aiming at a different demographic, not people like me who've long since moved on to larger film formats and use 35mm largely as a way of scouting a location before using more expensive film stocks. There's also the thing that I have no idea how long it would take me to use 72 frames when it can take me a few weeks to use 12 in medium format.
