Double Hammer or weight throws, are not worth the risk rewards of the movements. Whether focusing on strength, muscle recruitment or torque, the risk of potential Injury with 2 implements is not worth the possible rewards. Even Turning or winding drills with 2 balls are dangerous. Much better to use a single overweight object. Just because you see someone doing skills or just because you can, does not necessarily mean you should. Train Wisely to become a durable athlete!

I took the USATF Level 1 coaching certification recently and the throwing presentation did not include any of bondarchuk's training or concepts. I asked why they forgot to include them. The presenter said Bondarchuk's material is "out dated"....then the same presenter showed the video of Sedykh (who Bondarchuk coached) and Litvinov trading off the world record... that still stands. What a clown.

That he coached Sedykh doesn't mean his technique when he was a competitor was the same as being taught to Sedykh. It likely wasn't as the WR has increased since this throw by about 10 m. Technique changes are likely the biggest factor, and an indication of the older technique is that here you can hear Bondarchuk's steps. A well known Belgian commentator remarked about this in the 1980s, about some non-Soviet competitors, that they 'were lagging and still using the old Soviet technique' (as they were the innovators in technique)... In the newer technique the steps are more smooth, come lower off the ground, and they don't use a wide stance.

you will find these same coaching clowns whom say "outdated" to be talking all the time about 'outdated' techniques, training concepts and athletes come a different day. We are told Jay Silvester's discus technique is outdated, that wide sweep at the back isn't good but I can guarantee you that if and when some thrower uses that same technique and throws far and wins worlds, big events, gold, etc., that he will be emulated in a heartbeat by many and that outdated term will be neo

@Rebeldadams yeah, Tikhon never got the chance to defend his fourth consecutive world championship title which Primoz won with like 80,80. Maybe he coulda won, maybe not, anyhow something like this can never happen! It's a disgrace.

His stance is so much wider than that of most throwers; his feet so much farther apart. And his technique at release is also so characteristically his own and does not resemble other throwers. Have any of you successfully imitated Bondarchuk in any definable way? I'm curious.

@JClebelge You know how it is if somebody have doping problems nobody will wait until the official results comes from the court. The minister says this is your problem and you must fight alone. my father have a beef with the federation because they give him and Ivan a salary of 50 dollar in a month. my father fled to Russia last year. Sure now the minister says we helped them and we always believes that they are guilty but this is bullshit.

@Hammerlit the belarus federation did not help them? they are country hero so i was thinking they might receive some help for this battle (this is a lot of money for athletes!). But you right, athletes has no enough rights. I think, it will make a jurisprudence for the future. IOC and fed shoud not have no more right than the athletes! Fortunately the CAS exists. Do you know when they will compete again ? Do you participate at the IAAF final or others or is it time for rest or training?
@Hammerlit
@Hammerlit 14 жыл бұрын
@JClebelge Yes your right but if you a poor athlete you have not the money to proof that in a court. Ivan and Vadim have payed 500.000 dollar for the lawyers and expert and the court costs. IOC was thinking that two poor Belarus athletes don't have this money for this battle. We have a wrong system, a athlete have no rights.
