Hey, we were the neighbors that gave the wood at 03:54! I thought it was you when your group drove up, but I wasn’t quite sure. I’ve been following your channel for a while now. I actually talked to some of y’all when the gazelles were being set up and to stake it down real good. We didn’t get any sleep the previous night because the wind was toppling over our tent constantly. Another group that had gazelles the previous day left because their tents kept toppling over.

@@Mrdavidlee1210 there’s a big dip that leads into a rock step. If you stay toward the left you should be able to clear it. If it’s too much there’s actually a service road that comes in from the 89 but I haven’t taken that way before. I just know it’s flat enough to bring a trailer in.

Bowman is fucking clapped out now over these “overlanders” 🤡
@RoamWithJon2 күн бұрын
@@Bluecollarham I wouldn’t say it’s clapped out and I wouldn’t put it on just overlanders. If anything I think the people running their side by sides tossing beer cans everywhere are just as big of an issue. Again what I’ve told people before it’s mostly on the people who aren’t leaving the area better or at minimum’s how it was when they got there. People wanna shit on people who are “overlanders” and those same people are the ones shitting on people for not touching grass 🤷🏻♂️
@Bluecollarham2 күн бұрын
Yeah, the side by side clowns came after the overlanders. I have seen plenty of instagram overlanders leave all kinds of shit on trees, trash in fire pits, and bottle caps and cans everywhere. Everything was better when people didn’t feel the need to record every little 2wd fire road “adventure” . Bowman is nothing it used to be 7-10yrs ago.
@RoamWithJon2 күн бұрын
@Bluecollarham I mean you can say the same thing for almost anything to be honest. A lot my favorite fishing spots I’ve been going to for decades have been blow out just because of KZbin and geo tagging apps. I don’t have an issue with the amount of people going out and having fun. As long as they respect the land. You should out the people you see leaving their trash everywhere. I think you’d be surprised how much more “overlanders” respect the land vs than the ones that are ruining it. As for me I just like making videos. This channel wasn’t even about overland initially. It was for motovlogging, traveling, and fishing 🤷🏻♂️

Been going here for the past 10 years. It’s definitely changed for the worst because of these type of videos. We are slowly going to lose public land because of KZbinrs and geotaggers.
@RoamWithJon9 күн бұрын
I understand where you’re coming from, that’s why I don’t specifically “name” or “geotag” lesser known locations where I go. But bowman being bowman, everyone knows about it. In my opinion us losing access to public land and or trails closing down isn’t going to be because of a KZbin video or people geotagging a location, it’s because people aren’t being taught to respect the land. People don’t know how to leave a place better than when they found it. That why we’re in many cases cleaning up after the people who were there before us.

Jon, How do you get air circulation in the platform topper when it’s all closed up and you are sleeping in there?
@RoamWithJon15 күн бұрын
I use a topper tent now, and when you crack a corner open on the door there’s sufficient airflow, just made a video about it a few weeks ago
@marksmalley673914 күн бұрын
Thank you for your reply! So you sleep on top of the topper now? When you slept inside the topper(in the past) was air flow a big problem(maybe why you sleep up top in the tent because of that very reason?) or was there a way to get so air flow so you could be comfortable? Reason I’m asking is on long trips out west from the mid west I will overnight in a Walmart our a Cracker Barrel and won’t feel comfortable in a tent above the topper. Once out west I think the roof tent(superlite) is a good option but not so much in cities or along highways? Can you advise me on that concern?
@RoamWithJon14 күн бұрын
No no I still sleep inside the topper lol I use a topper tent it’s an extension that lets you sleep in the topper with the tailgate down. I didn’t really have any issues sleeping inside of the topper with out the topper then until I sealed the bed up.
