Awesome video! Do you think a rav4 prime stock suspension and AT tires could make it up there?

Yes definitely there’s one spot that you might have issues with but you should be fine.

@@RoamWithJonappreciate the tip. Is the difficulty part going up the rock beds?
@RoamWithJon
@RoamWithJon 5 ай бұрын
@@Mrdavidlee1210 there’s a big dip that leads into a rock step. If you stay toward the left you should be able to clear it. If it’s too much there’s actually a service road that comes in from the 89 but I haven’t taken that way before. I just know it’s flat enough to bring a trailer in.

Usually I can get here in my lifted Outback no problem but that step up spot always gives me a little trouble. I usually just hit it hard left. Has it gotten worse? Heard you mention it was worse than before lol.
@RoamWithJon

Oh much worse lol it used to be just a step up. Now it’s a ditch into a step up I would’ve went close left but that jeep was blocking the way

@@RoamWithJon Good to know thank you. Will bring the boards just in case. Swear that spot gets worse and worse every year cause of people trailing when its still muddy out there lol.

me and my buddies went there a couple years ago, my Tundra and two Tacos, and I thought that the lake was decently full. but this time it looks like its hella full! we did the river crossing last time but it looks like that part is submerged. I gotta go up there again, this time with my 4runner.

Oh it’s definitely worth it to go right now, that area with the water crossing is fully submerged probably under 6+ feet of water lol the area is super nice now!

Was this recent? Trail looks pretty clear. We went last year in August total of 5 sprinter vans and the step up was crazy.

Mmm I shot this a week before I posted it. Very recent. Yeah if you’re coming up in a sprinter van I wouldn’t suggest coming in through the normal entrance lol. There’s other ways to get to bowman lake.

Bowman is fucking clapped out now over these “overlanders” 🤡
@RoamWithJon
@RoamWithJon 5 ай бұрын
@@Bluecollarham I wouldn’t say it’s clapped out and I wouldn’t put it on just overlanders. If anything I think the people running their side by sides tossing beer cans everywhere are just as big of an issue. Again what I’ve told people before it’s mostly on the people who aren’t leaving the area better or at minimum’s how it was when they got there. People wanna shit on people who are “overlanders” and those same people are the ones shitting on people for not touching grass 🤷🏻‍♂️
@Bluecollarham
@Bluecollarham 5 ай бұрын
Yeah, the side by side clowns came after the overlanders. I have seen plenty of instagram overlanders leave all kinds of shit on trees, trash in fire pits, and bottle caps and cans everywhere. Everything was better when people didn’t feel the need to record every little 2wd fire road “adventure” . Bowman is nothing it used to be 7-10yrs ago.
@RoamWithJon

@Bluecollarham I mean you can say the same thing for almost anything to be honest. A lot my favorite fishing spots I’ve been going to for decades have been blow out just because of KZbin and geo tagging apps. I don’t have an issue with the amount of people going out and having fun. As long as they respect the land. You should out the people you see leaving their trash everywhere. I think you’d be surprised how much more “overlanders” respect the land vs than the ones that are ruining it. As for me I just like making videos. This channel wasn’t even about overland initially. It was for motovlogging, traveling, and fishing 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@MatthiasMatthiasCarrigan I’m going to reply to both of your comments in one reply. This trail is a featured trail on OnX, it’s been featured on sites like overland bound, trails offroad, ect, and been featured on multiple bigger channels on KZbin. 4wd247 literally just did a video here and they’re have a million subs lmao. It’s an already well known lake. It’s as if you were to tell a fisherman to not post that they’re fishing Clearlake cause it’ll burn the spot. That being said I still keep the more unknown trails and areas we visit tight lipped.

Been going here for the past 10 years. It’s definitely changed for the worst because of these type of videos. We are slowly going to lose public land because of KZbinrs and geotaggers.
@RoamWithJon
@RoamWithJon 6 ай бұрын
I understand where you’re coming from, that’s why I don’t specifically “name” or “geotag” lesser known locations where I go. But bowman being bowman, everyone knows about it. In my opinion us losing access to public land and or trails closing down isn’t going to be because of a KZbin video or people geotagging a location, it’s because people aren’t being taught to respect the land. People don’t know how to leave a place better than when they found it. That why we’re in many cases cleaning up after the people who were there before us.
@MatthiasMatthiasCarrigan
@MatthiasMatthiasCarrigan 4 ай бұрын
@@RoamWithJon Yes and people who don't respect the land look for videos like this, rather than find the locations by word of mouth/gmaps. No need to contribute to the problem, just leave the name out! It doesn't change your video at all man
