Looks to me like a bit too early throttle and his backwheel slipped then got back traction when the bike stood up a bit and highsided. Even though late to the party I hope your friend and you are up and well!

Bough an '22 z900 with full akrapovic exhaust and tune which puts 160bhp crank now... zero regrets. An exhaust is definetly a must for these bikes.

Buying Speed Twin. Why?? Because some moron at Kawasaki's design studio made it impossible to carry a pilion in safety and comfort. The Triumph crew are not so disrespectful. Cheers.

You do mods to make your toy look better through your eyes. I have the monster 796 and still can't stand the heat that my inner thighs. I guess I'm lucky for finding a mechanic that only works on Ducati bikes, I pay ¹/3 of the price of what the dealer charges

Nice video. Although we know these 2 are different in power starting from the cc, (680cc 74Hp Vs 948cc 125HP) the difference in prices is minimum, barely $500USD here in Mexico (Yamaha MT07: $239,999MX Kawasaki Z900 ABS Version $249,999MX). I'll obviosuly get the Kawasaki.

U can make the engine acceleration low and it’s perfect for street and you can set to high engine acceleration witch makes it more snappy default is set to medium out the factory

I had a 797 and when I first got it I experienced a few of those “false neutrals” I discovered it’s mostly user error.. you have to shift with authority and deliberately. If you lazy shift or shift too early in the RPM’s you’ll get those “false neutrals” Ducati’s like to be ridden hard & aggressively.
@josephlilley92493 ай бұрын
How do you like the 797. Does it feel like a fast bike? Just curious bc I have a ktm now but looking to get a minter 797 or 821. I know the 821 has like 20 more hp but I have seen many 797s for good deals compared to the 821s
@ChrisVonDoom832 ай бұрын
@@josephlilley9249 what KTM do you have now? I loved the 797.. It was my 2nd bike. I started on a Ninja 400 then went to the 797 so it was plenty fast for me. Honestly speed isn’t the whole story.. just the joy and experience of riding/owning a Ducati was amazing all on its own. They are very different from other bikes.

My first bike 25 years ago was a Honda VFR 750, it had 100 bhp, weight 237 kilo and fairly lent forward. The Ducati Monster 821 is a perfect first bike. Not too lent forward, riding modes and as far as the weight. You are not to carry the bike on your back and good luck feeling the difference when riding a bike weighing 190 or 230 kilos. I have had a Monster 1000 ds and now ride the newer 1200 S. I have no problem with weight and steering lock. I am 163 cm and weigh 57 kilo. If you hate these five things I suggest you get a different bike, Perhaps a Scrambler 400.

Dust, or maybe going into a corner too fast and deep for a left/right combination, trying to maintain speed while leaned over, high gear so no engine braking, 44 kph entry but 47 kph when he loses it, so not setting up for the immediate right hander coming up? It's 7 degrees Celsius in canada right now, and I'm riding roads like this at the moment and seeing this accident is gonna make me even more careful. I think (I hope) this crash was avoidable. Scenery is great, enjoying cornering is great, but I think looking ahead at the combination corner instead of focusing on the one right in front of him would have prevented this accident. Glad your friend is ok.

I had the reverse problem, I had a Suzuki Vstrom that is a very comfortable ride but the height and weight was too much. The Z 900 has the power comfort and is lower to the ground.

797 has some of the same issues 1. Limited Steering lock - for sure a pain for low speed maneuvers 2. False neutrals - same on the 797. Have to kick up firmly to avoid this 3. Desmo isn't so bad honestly 4. The mirrors suck balls. I totally agree. I put a small blindspot mirror on the right side. The vibrations are fine by me. 5. This isn't an issue on the 797

Had a highside 1 month ago.. still recovering, 8 broken ribs (each rib broken into several pices) a multi fractured scapula and a punctured lung. The first week at the hospital i was fighting for my life and chances of surviving where slim.. I spent two weeks at the hospital but I'm far from well today but I will get close to fully recovered according to the doctors but it will take a few more months. I was carrying full gear thank god otherwise there is no way I would be writing this comment, could I have avoided the accident? Yes there was, the obvious one is I could have taken the car since it was still winter (not cold and icy but still) so there where still some sand in the roundabout where the accident occured, another thing I could have done was keeping a lower speed.. I was driving around 40km/h and pushing the bike to much before the tires was up to temperature. Before I go out and push the bike close to it's limits again I will get an airbag vest, that could have saved me from perhaps the puntured lung that later collapsed at the hospital.. and that would have given me better odds of survival. The bike I was riding when the accident happend was a Triumph speed triple 1050 from 2014 so there is no electronic aid on that bike.. I love the bike but maybe I will take another bike with electronic aid if I plan on pushing it a bit on the road.. Stay safe, always wear full gear and when you feel the need for speed go to a trackday instead!

Thanks for the honest review. I know exactly what you said. I've test riden the Z900 and Z1000 and simply didn't like them, even though they are great bikes and have superb motors. But I wouldn't change my ride for them, and I'm talking about a 2012 F800R, wich works better for me. The two cylinder punch at low and mid-range rpm is unique. I'll try soon a Triumph Speed Triple R 2016 or 2017, same bike basically and last ones that arrived in Brazil. I liked the 765RS, but still found it kind of weak, even though refined. And loved the 2020 MT-09, wich surprised me well; what a hooligan bike. But for a lot of more money, though. Best regards.

I agree. I know three guys who made the mistake of buying a too big or powerful first bike. One bought a big Ninja, rode it once and parked it for eternity. Told me it scared him witless. A skinny man of fifty got a V2 Guzzi. He dropped it on gravel and broke his back tryin to pick it up. A short fat fellow got an Aprilia Tuono. A couple of rides, and he sold it, happy to be alive.
