I've noticed that this car loves to spend as much time in second gear as possible. Forcing it into first really helps it. It seems to be programmed to make the ride as smooth at possible. The problem with a DCT is that manual transmissions were meant to have a brain behind them, not two. The DCT is really not a good choice for off-roading no matter how you look at it.

Maybe if a B list celebrity takes a sport on a (very) slow police chase, it'll have more cred

I'm strongly considering one of these. I travel locally for a living, with multiple stops per day, so I always like a small, easy to park vehicle, but could also use a truck bed for yard stuff.

Why would you think an acoustic underbody panel for NVH protect anything?

You know what's dumb buying a Bronco Sport and trying to off-road it or better yet buying upgrades like skid plates to try and off-road

It's not a FX4 or Tremor. Nor is it a Lariat. What exactly is your point? Frankly, the Bronco Sport Badlands, Maverick Tremor, or Santa Cruz aren't engineered for substantial off-road use. A factory installed hard tonneau cover is available for Maverick as are aftermarket ones. It's hard for me to understand why someone would put valuables in an open bed unattended. It isn't a lack of availability of options that caused your aqaintance to loose their stuff. It was bad judgement. Sounds like much to do about nothing. If this is the level of thought you dedicate to your business, I would be hesitant to try your products.

A BS Badlands is a little unfair of a comparsion. The Santa Cruz can't keep up with a Maverick FX4.
