Size and weight are just right; output is superb. What lets it down (on mine, at least) is the tailswitch, which is so damned stiff it is nigh-on impossible to operate with one hand. Use two, and - problem solved! Moral of the tale: if you aren't Arnold Schwarzenegger, don't try to be.

Thank you for the video! Just a question, because the manual is just not clear. If I turn on the torch, at set it with white light light to power (220 lumens) it will continue with 220 lumens until the end or the lamp is always either in energy saving and constant light, and so will drop the power after a few minutes? Or the "normal mode" is just costant lumens, and if you set constant light or energy save it will drop? I really can't understand this thing which is quite important because if the power after 5 minutes drops to 60% it is not like in the data sheet stating that with 220 lumens the torch lasts for 3.5 hours!

Just a correction: we should call it an anti-explosion flashlight not a explosion proof flashlight. It won't cause an explosion but it won't resist one.
@drogadepc4 жыл бұрын
Anti-explosion would be more accurate. Explosion proof gives the wrong idea that this flashlight/torch can resist explosiom, which is not the case but rather, it won't cause an explosion.

The zoom ring is so tight that you need both hands to adjust it. With gloves on it is difficult to adjust it at all in fact. This was way better on the older models like the SEO5 for example. The light switch should be a little bigger and more tactile (not so round and smooth) so that you could feel where it is and operate it with gloves on. The light beam is not as evenly distributed as it was on older models. Feels like led lenser has lowered their aim a bit. Other than that, the light is bright and fits quite well around the head.

Also, a Led Lenser North America rep said the older model can use standard AA alkaline battery as well - but again your video is saying here that only the newer model can do that? I think you're confusing people more than your helping. The only difference I can see is the addition of the red LED and the external magnetic charging ports. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZSrp6OZfLCnpM0
@ooijunwei41054 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are right. The new and old model both support 1x AA battery.

Yeah your older MH5 video shows the older model detaches, swivels, and has the metal clip. So has something changed about these on the new model? kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIDamHZ8haiYbpI

Hi, hope my video not confusing you for the New and Old model of MH5. :) Yea, new MH5 come with new colour range as well. -Black/Blue -Black/Yellow -Black/Orange
@chocolate_squiggle4 жыл бұрын
First I want to thank you because your videos are quite clear compared to some other less useful Led Lenser videos. I can see the red LED is new, as is the external magnetic charging ports. But I'm confused about the rest - the old version can be hand held, and can swivel up and down, and has the metal clip as well, don't they? You show these as if they're something new though. Then, we get to the question of WHY Led Lenser are changing the model and calling it the same MH5 name? I've been looking at these lights for a week or so and only just now after I found your video have I realised there are two entirely different MH5 lights. I love my older Led Lenser lights but it's so hard to figure out what the hell is going on with their lights some times. All the retailers and distributers have different bits of the puzzle on their websites and you have to search everywhere to build up a complete picture of a particular headlamps features. And then when you think you've finally got it figured out there's apparently two different versions of the same damned headlamp. I give up, I've just spent another couple hours tonight trying to look at this stuff.
@ooijunwei41054 жыл бұрын

@chocolate_squiggle4 жыл бұрын
Well if you just want it for working on your car at night or seeing inside a dark cupboard, yes there are cheaper simpler lights. But for people hiking or running in the bush at night, or in mountains, then the extra features really can be good. I have an older SEO5 model that has similar features to this, and I've used all of them except the flashing signal. It even has a dimmer function to adjust the light output to anywhere in between the default high/low settings and I've seen other people say that's a gimmick, but for me that's become a non-negotiable feature - I won't upgrade to a lamp that doesn't have it. We all have different needs but like anything it's easy once you've used it a few times.

@@chocolate_squiggle the features of this headlamp are good. What is really BAD is how complicated it is to use those features. It requires too much memorization of sequences. I'll give you an example of a headlamp with equal features but has a mechanical interface that requires no manual: Streamlight Sidewinder Compact II. The Sidewinder is so easy to use even a child can pick up that headlamp and learn to use all features without any manuals. It has four brightness modes, it has RGB each with their own brightness modes, even comes with InfraRed light for use with night vision goggles. It can take rechargeable and single-use CR123, or AA, or even AAA batteries. Waterproof, and dust proof.
