I blew out a fuse because I miss understood what the diagram of the wire placement is. I had to watch the video a few times to understand what is going on. People that don't understand electrical will not understand the meaning of textured "wrapped" and smooth wire when it comes to the universal negative/ground and positive/hot or neutral. Clear communication is key to a tutorial or teaching new people. Proceed with caution! The miss understanding of this tutorial can lead to a hazardous fire or electrocution. Daboy has good intentions and has an understanding of what he is doing but has poor English and visual demonstration skills. I figured out how to put it simple. Black wire from lower socket goes to (Black screw). Positive/hot from plug wire goes to (Brass screw). The white wire from the lower socket and the Negative/ground from the plug wire go together on the (Silver, Metallic, Chrome color screw). Please take this as constructive precaution for the sake of everyone's safety. If you feel unsafe about this project please take your lamp to a local lamp repair shop.

Would you consider doing a video on the reason and purpose for the different parts of a lamp...in detail. Thank you.

Not helpful at all. Step by step instructions would help. You are assuming the viewer knows what you are trimming and what wire comes from where. It’s not clear so it wasn’t helpful.

I have a nearly identical chandelier. One of the glass arms is broken such that about a quarter inch of glass is missing. Is there anything that can be used like Bondo to fill in that gap and dry clear?

I have the same Stiffel floor lamp and I replace the pole switch in the base about 30 years ago. I used a switch from the hardware store and, while it worked, it didn't last long. Obviously it wasn't of the same quality as the original. Would you please provide details on what and from where I can order a suitable switch that will work and be of adequate quality?

At 4:55 minutes you mention a crossbar that is used to attach the internal light. Any suggestions where I can purchase this? I've been looking everywhere!

You install wires on to the terminal screw in a wrong way, always put a wire loop in the clockwise directions, so when you tighten it down, it's going to promote puling the wire in closer to the terminal screw center, not pushing it away ...
