Integrated LED outdoor lamp repair

Hey guys, in this video I modified this LED outdoor lamp to medium base porcelain socket so you can use any threaded base bulb like incandescent, compact flourescent and LED. Hope you guys like it and please don't forget to suscribe! See you guys on the next one!

I'm working on a very cool ship Lantern. it has a three-way socket at the top and a medium base socket in the belly with just a two wire push canopy. three-way controls the top push canopy controls the bottom please help me with the wiring. I have cut the power cord completely in half in the belly and I have applied the canopy switch. but not sure which wire goes where

Is the socket controls the top and bottom light when you turn on?

no the 3way socket works separately from the bottom socket. bottom socket has the push canopy. I didn't have a reference because the wiring had rotted so badly.

The lady said she had never seen it lit so I guess I could use a 3wire socket but I think she liked the idea of 3way at top

Do you like to use the 3 terminal turnknob socket instead, so you only have one switch to control the top and bottom light. This is how the 3 terminal turnknob socket works, first turn the top light is on and the bottom light is off, second turn the bottom light is on and the top light is off, 3rd turn the top and bottom light is on and 4rth turn is off, while if you use 3 way you have 2 separate switch to use.

that is probably the way it should be wired. more easy to turn on and off

@@kathybelk1333 this is how you wire the 3 terminal turnknob socket, connect a single wire about 1 ft long to the silver terminal of the 3 terminal socket then connect that wire with the rough or neutral wire of the bottom socket and connect together with the rough or neutral wire from the power cord. Connect the smooth side wire from the power cord to the brass terminal of the 3 terminal socket, and connect the smooth side wire of the bottom socket to the black terminal of the 3 terminal socket.

thank you Danny. the lady insisted on the 2 separate switches. so I did 3way on top and on/off push canopy on bottom socket. it took me a minute to figure it out. thank you 😊
