The whole ending had me shook emotionally for months. When i sit back and think of it. I feel that way again. Its like i legit lost people who i never even met, who arent even real. Like im going through some bittersweet grief.

I think the reason people didn't understand the ending of Lost, or had a hard time wrapping their heads around it, was because Lost ended up turning out to be quite a spiritual series. Not necessarily religious, like Christian, or Muslim, or Buddhist, or anything. But spiritual, absolutely. And for a science fiction series to end on a spiritual note, especially one with purgatory, which is a concept deeply rooted in Catholicism, it frustrated alot of people. Because the world has become alot less spiritual the last few decades.

1:22 It was one of the most heart breaking scenes to see her trip, helped by her love of life & yet he can't speak a word, to maintain a facade of keeping her sane & her version of reality intact (safe is already lost topic courtesy of Samaritan). The whole scene was the most cruel writer's delivery on Finch which was already difficult emotionally & driving the final nail on heart wrenching with tripping & steadying with no skin touch, only gloves & clothes as she will recognise his touch. Let's not forget this is the closest Finch has got to her after he is recovering in hospital after ferry incident. He is now closest to her in worst possible way & no reply for her thanks & this is the guy who avoids violence in any way, who has just pronounced the verdict "kill" first time in series for Reese to do if any harm comes to her (just before the bridge scene) here he is silently steadying her, full of emotions & sealed to lips all in all 10/10 writing & delivery

They where Lost. Then they found each other. Like Jack said. "If we can't live together, then we're gunna die alone" Thankfully most of them managed to work together in some form and died together. It's so deep. So perfect. It's universal magic.

I love how Lost is not called that because they are lost on an island. It’s because they are all lost as people, and through the island, found their purpose. They found meaning in their lives. 😢

most people today are atheists and no longer believe in God, which is why the end of Lost is misunderstood. People prefer action to spirituality. This scene touches my soul, that's the main thing. "lost"

Religious people still majority of population in most countries. In West, Christian are majority. And most of Christian Denominations don't believe the afterlife will be anything like this. Some believe we will remain dead until the next coming of Christ, for example. To be honest, it's easier for a non-religion/atheist person to understand and feel touched by Lost ending than a Christian. Lost is at the same time a Mystic and Secular show. There's nothing Christian about this show.

I know this video is old as dirt, but this is pretty obviously not a "Christian conversation" - I mean the stained glass window literally has symbols for the Muslim, Jewish, Doaist, Christian, and Hindu faiths on it. I guess people see what they want to see 🤷♂️

I mean, a lot of people get unreasonably upset with that interpretation, and the show runners said that the events on the island "actually happened" but I still think it's the interpretation that makes the most sense, as long as you take it as an areligous version of purgatory. Art is always open to interpretation, and disagreeing with the creators' intended message doesn't invalidate your interpretation. That's one of the coolest things about art.
@damdamdamdumdidum2 ай бұрын
@@jonmiller6787 It's reasonably upset, because they couldn't make it more clear for people who think that. They literally said it in this video. Just listen to it: 1:36 - "Everything that's ever happen to you is real. All those people in the church... they're all real too." 1:50 - "Everyone dies sometime kiddo." That's the whole point of season 6: Because of what they all experienced IN REAL LIFE WHEN THEY WERE ALIVE on the island, they all "found" each other in the afterlife after they died, which can be years in the future. But they all stranded in this afterlife reality, they created it because of their connection. That has nothing to do with interpretations, they spelled it out clearly.

They all died *eventually* that's important, it means the island was real and everything that happened (except flashsides) was true. Now the island must be protected, because it holds reality altering properties that can create time travel and make electro magnetic pulls so powerful it can implode the island itself and pull in everything near it like a vacuum! The plug in the island's heart is there to stop the island from destroying everything around itself. Jacob and Black Smoke are ancient god-like entities meant to protect the island, but Black Smoke got bitter and resentful of the island, himself turning into a monster that wished to escape the island and take over the earth. These guardians are metaphors for God and Devil imo and the survivors were brought here by Jacob to stop Black smoke which they eventually do in the finale. As for the Dharna Intuitive, they discovered the island had these reality altering powers back in the 1970s and tried to control them, only this failed more often than not, causing them to disband. Honestly, i think the original idea behind Lost went through so many changes and mysteries it becomes almost too convulted to really say what the original mystery was even supposed to be. I get *lost* every time I rewatch the show and return with different conclusions each time.

Read 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 10:9-10, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:22-28, Romans 5:8-9, Ephesians 1:13-14. Rapture any day now! Come Lord Jesus! Maranatha! Amen!!!!!!!!!!!

You know….I was obsessed with this show growing up but I used to give it a lot of 💩 for a “cop out” ending and not explaining things. Rewatching it I realized neither one of those things were true. Pretty sure I believed they were dead the whole time too but hearing the one or two characters state that in the show really didn’t lend itself to that idea and of course Christian saying so (although quite honestly I was fine with the island being purgatory 🤷🏼♂️). I think the fact this was aired once a week over the course of however many years really didn’t help either. A binging rewatch puts it into better perspective for sure
